....
Valthrax dragged his battered body to the edge of the cliff, seeing Kyle struggle to gain control of his body as he plummet to his death.
He's still as resilient as ever. Valthrax smirked waiting for Kyle's body to smash as he drew nearer to the ground. But before he could collide, dark flames erupted from his chest, consuming his entire body before he could reach the ground
Valthrax couldn't believe what he saw, Kyle should have fallen to his death, his body splattered across the ground. It should have been that way, but somehow he vanished, the dark flames suddenly coming out of nowhere consuming his body, not even sparing limb that lay severed on the cliff was gone too.
It shouldn't be that way, Kyle wasn't capable of using magic, so what had he done.
Valthrax thought hard on what Kyle might have used to escaped. He was cut short from his thoughts feeling fear and dread, something was coming. His instincts telling him to leave, urging him to get away from there as fast as possible, but he couldn't, he tried to lift his feet but it won't budge. He pleaded desperately to his legs trying all he could do to get them to move but they where dominant, refusing to move.
Valthrax knew that he won't survive an encounter with whatever was coming. Overwhelmed by Cerci's presence drawing near, Valthrax, managed to overcame his fear, freeing his legs from their slumber. He ran away from Cerci as his legs could, accompanied by the penthria, they headed deeper into.
But the more they distance themselves from Cerci, the more she gained on them.
Cerci moved like a bolt of lightning, closing in on the people responsible for Kyle's disappearance. Anger leaked out of her affecting the mana around her, making it to swirl violently, destroying everything in its path.
She came to cliff where Kyle's mana signature had vanished. Looking around as she passed, the swirling mana raged even more, using wind to propell herself forward. Her inhuman speed increased. Eventually catching up with Vilthax, passing ahead of him and stopping a few feets in front of him. The force of her momentum, spread when she stopped, tossing him and beast away. Before his body could touch the flow, Cerci appeared beside him, grabbing him by the neck and slamming him to the ground, creating a small crater round them. Letting Valthrax suffocate underthe intense pressure she was given off, she spoke making his body to tremble with fear, "Where is he"
The beast rushed towards them, trying to knock Cerci off him, was instantly impaled by several stone spears before it could touch Cerci. Blood dripping down its body as it struggled trying to break free from the spears when more came up from the ground and pierced it.
Seeing it could not escape, it gathered the last of its strength for an attack, channeling mana to its tail. It never got to fire, different chunks of its flesh flying, bathing Cerci in its blood.
Cerci looking more menacing covered in the beast blood, turned back to the demon in her grasp . Tightening her grip around his neck, she said "Choose your next words wisely or it might be your last."
Valthrax straining his voice chocked "I don't know." "Wrong answer". Infusing mana into her hands, she struck Valthrax, aiming to rip his heart out, when a barrier appeared, shielding him from the attack, the ground quake from the impact.
Cerci watched as Valthrax dispersed into light, while she repeatedly struck the barrier, several cracks appearing on it with each strike.
...
Kyle woke up with a throbbing headache, trying to recall what had happen in the last few minutes. He slowly recalled the battle with the penthria, how Valthrax had poison. As he remembered how he had been stabbed before falling off the cliff. He placed his hand at the gap in his chest, but he couldn't feel it, looking down at his body he saw that all the injuries he had was healed, even his severed arm seemed to have been reattach flawlessly.
As a matter of fact, he didn't feel any pain from the poison, neither did he feel any when moving his body.
He couldn't believe what had happened, he had been paralyzed, mangled and bleeding , falling to death. How is it that he was alright. Flexing the arm that was severed, 'it really is back'.
He's body was healed, mana circulating unrestricted round his body, circulating mana to his sword hand, he was amazed, his hand was functioning as it was before. Even better, he felt stronger now.
After being mesmerized from his luck, Kyle studied his surroundings. There wasn't any light here so all he saw was darkness, stretching his mana sense wide he couldn't sense anything not even mana. As a matter of fact his mana sense couldn't sense anything far from him, it felt foggy, like a mist was around him, 'That's odd'
Standing up, Kyle tried to see where he was. He shielded his eyes, giving it time to adjust to the dim light that had appeared, mist swirled around him, moving like it possessed some form of sentient.
The mist cleared, enough for him to see a being on a throne, it's skin black onxy.
A voice echoed in his head "Kyle Lucas, I've been expecting you, welcome to my humble abode."
