Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Saving the Suffering

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Lily eliminated seven players in total, earning 1130 experience points.

When she submitted the Wildfire Burning quest earlier, she gained 2000 experience points for capturing 10 players. Adding that to her remaining experience from previous level-ups and the experience gained after defeating Martin, she now had a total of 3841 experience points.

The speed at which she accumulated experience left players speechless and brought tears to the eyes of other NPCs who had to slowly improve their strength.

Considering how much Mark contributed, Lily had to exert considerable effort to keep from laughing out loud when facing him.

"You have proven your loyalty to the Wildfire Gang."

Mark said dismissively and then ignored Lily.

Given his status in the Wildfire Gang, he really didn't need to give Lily any explanation.

The atmosphere was a bit awkward, and finally, the Wildfire Gang Leader stepped in to end the farce.

"Clean up the bodies. As for the three who are still alive, lock them up for now."

After arranging the players' "afterlife," he also had someone give Lily an additional 500 credit points, considering it a reward for her excellent performance.

Lily accepted with pleasure. She didn't care about the Wildfire Gang Leader's motives; she only knew that it would be foolish not to make money when the opportunity arose.

When she went to collect the money, the person responsible for distributing it whispered, "You'd best be careful lately."

"Why do you say that?"

"You haven't dealt with Minister Cao much, so you don't know how petty he is. He was already displeased with you, and today you made him lose face in front of everyone. He definitely won't let you off the hook. You know he's in charge of logistics, so you... well, you get what I mean."

At this point, the person shook his head, apparently having been dissatisfied with Mark for a long time.

Lily smiled and expressed her thanks.

She truly didn't understand Mark, but she had a cheat.

When Mark left earlier, she deliberately gave him a Spiritual Vision.

[Name]: Mark (Elite)

[Template]: Ordinary

[Main Profession]: Ordinary Pugilist Lv9

[Sub Profession]: None

[HP]: 130 / 130

[Attributes]: Strength 14, Agility 7, Constitution 10, Intelligence 3, Spirit 3, Inspiration 4

[Skills]:?

[Talents]:?

[Affection]: Resentment (-46)

[Danger Level]: Red

Spiritual Vision couldn't see through Mark's true thoughts, but an Affection of -46 was enough to explain many issues.

Lily was a little curious about how Mark would deal with her later. Would he just use excuses to withhold her supplies?

If so, Mark's status in her heart would have to be downgraded from an angel investor.

Overall, Lily remained very calm.

Although it would be difficult for her to defeat Mark with her current strength, unless Mark showed up at her doorstep immediately, she had nothing to worry about.

...

The next day, Lily woke up extra early, first going to apologize to Patrick Star and the others she had eliminated, and then reporting to the Wildfire Gang.

Soon after arriving at the Wildfire Gang, a Wildfire Gang member from the External Affairs Department, responsible for distributing various tasks, found her.

"The higher-ups discussed it and, considering your group's current weakness and your over-completion of yesterday's task, they've temporarily arranged an easy and good job for you."

There's such a good thing? Why don't I believe it?

Lily asked, "What kind of job?"
