Chapter 9 - **chapter nine:home is where the heart is **

There's no way am not coming back to Grandma's place next holiday season, we had the best time ever, and even Ashley agreed to come with me, and this time she's staying with us. We made new friends, Riley and O'dessa, they are so cool, Riley is a guitarist, he plays on the road side, and O'dessa works in a thrift store, which was also a comic book store, and it was one of the coolest places in town. I'll say this in a few words, ¡Tuve unas vacaciones increíbles!

What? We got enrolled in Spanish class lessons there, amigo. I bragged to our friends and everyone had a lot of fun, and it was good, no one had any bad news, except the funny ones. Actually, here's my favorite one, so Lara was supposed to lead a song in her Christian camp, and she asked the other kids what kind of song she should sing, and they said anything is fine, so she literally sang "Hurricane" by Bridgit Mendler, which is actually our favorite song, at the end everyone just chorused amen, can you imagine? I feel she did it on purpose, though.

After the whole catch up and stories, I went home from the park and unboxed my stuff, and some good scent grandma insisted I take home, and is good for young ladies, Ashley got some too.

In the afternoon, I received a phone call from Riley and O'dessa, they said they missed us so much, and I gave them an invite if they ever had to come to my town, we will be glad to have them.

My mom came home late, and we already had dinner, and I was half asleep when she knocked on my door. "Melanie, are you awake?" "Uhmm, yes, Mom," I answered, she asked about my day and the whole trip, and she was very delighted by everything I got to do. "You didn't have another petty argument with...?" my mom did you, "oh no, grandma was, let's say, more matured," and mom laughed out loud and pinched my cheek a little, "don't say that, Melanie," and "am Happy you had a great time," she added before leaving for her room.

I still have a few days before school reopens, and I have been trying to get some rest and sleep, as I barely had any when I was on vacation, and that is not even a bad thing, we had a lot to do that I forgot I had to rest, so I'm paying the price.

I went to get flowers with my girls and met Luca, this was my first time meeting him after the vacation, and he looked different, I don't know if it's just me, but he looks way better than last month, he changed his haircut and dyed his hair tip pink, and it's not even bad as I thought it would be on a guy.

We stood talking for a while and basically did some catch up, then we got our flowers, and he paid for mine, which was kinda weird and sweet, my cheek was pink from smiling, and I kept looking back at him, "owww," my friends exclaimed so loud, "what?" I answered, "you like him," they sang, "no, I don't," I answered, "he's just my friend," I said. Yeah, keep saying that.

When I got home, I put the flower in a vase and poured in some water to preserve it, and I kept staring at the flower, first flower from a guy that's not my dad or brother, it felt so good.

I said quietly to myself I missed you Burberry!
