I ended up going home after the sleep over got cancelled midway because few of us hadn't be fully packed, you could imagine the disappointment.
I woke up by eight pm and I snoozed the alarm again and went back to sleep, then I had this crazy dream about me and Emory, we were in the backseat of a cab and he was kind of on top of me and I had my hands at the top of my head, and it was so real, I didn't even know what was happening, then my mom called out for me, at first I was still trying to understand where my mom's voice is coming from since we are in a moving cab, until she slapped in the back and I jumped up from bed, oh oh, I tried to catch my breath, it was a dream, oh my gosh, I was sweating and she looked at me all confused, then she said Ashley is already downstairs.
I got to the bathroom, brushed, and showered, and got ready, there was no time for makeover since I spent all the time sleeping.
Ashley, I called out with so much excitement, lanieeee, she called back and gave me a hug like I wasn't with her yesterday.
You got everything you need, she asked, yup I do.
So your brother is going to be the one driving us? she raised an eyebrow, oh he's good, really, don't worry, he'll be good, wouldn't ya? I asked, sure, Miller answered, but quite uncertain what the question was, but anyways he didn't bother asking, get in the car, I'll have to be back before dinner, we have a night gig and I don't want to miss it, he said.
One thing I loved about road trip, the boulevard, the sun and the smell, it was just different and beautiful, I've always been on the road since I was a kid, we often go on vacation pretty much every holiday and this is one of the locations I've been to my entire life and am grateful to explore my country.
It took about half an hour to get there and it was like forever, my brother had been ordered by mom to drive as slow as possible and to be honest though he drives like a maniac, it was quite annoying to drive this slow.
Grandmama's house is a charming sight with its lush green garden full of blooming flowers, a creaky porch swing, and windows fogged with the sweet scent of baking, it was a little heaven and I was delighted by the sight of it, Nana cried! Oh my Melanie, she ran out, I could tell she has been cooking all day, she had an apron and aroma of freshly baked bread enveloped the air, I gave her a tight hug and whispered I miss you Nana, I miss you too my angel, she said patting my back slowly, haven't you grown, she said looking towards Miller direction, I was here last month, I look the same Nana, he answered, ohh well it almost like a year, she replied and gave him a hug, then proceed to ask who Ashley was, it seems she might have forgotten, because my friends always come around even they are quite familiar with her and I tried to reintroduce her, oh dear dear dear I remember now, how are you? she asked, am good, it been a while, Ashley greeted.
Well come inside now, I've made a lot of baking and drinks for you.
My brother and I took Ashley to her uncle's place after lunch and he spent the night with us since grandma insisted, missing his gig shows how much we can do for family and I respected that.
In my space, I just couldn't stop thinking about how good it was to have a vacation after the whole bizarre month I had, I said my prayer and dozed off.
