Chapter 27 - Training camp-2

The next day, Aizawa woke everyone up before dawn to take us to a cliffside where we redid the test from the first day.

"Throw the ball as hard as you can." He said, handing the ball to Bakugo, who did, and to everyone's shock, only managed to throw a few meters farther than the first time.

"As you can see, despite being much stronger compared to the first day of school, Bakugo's quirk hasn't gotten any stronger. This is what the focus of these next two weeks will be: quirk training.

Up until now, you've been building up your bodies to deal with the physical stresses of hero work; now it's time to do the same for your quirks. The Wild Pussycats will be helping during all of this, but you are expected to go above and beyond to grow past your limits."

That seemed to light a fire under the class as we threw ourselves into training with a frantic determination that upset Monoma and a few other hardheads in class 1-B when they woke up. Vlad King, their teacher, didn't let it fester, though, as he threw them in with us.

Despite my quirk being a mix between emitter, flames, transformation, wings, and mutant, wings again, I was placed with Tiger's group. Tiger was focused more on physical capabilities, as well as flexibility, as he put us through stretches that made me feel both loose and fragile, as some of them made me shake.

Thankfully, Sasha was considered a mutant quirk and was placed in another group. Did I feel sad that I wouldn't be able to watch her stretch? Yes. Was I also very glad she wasn't here to see me fail several stretches, and that she wasn't here to poke my sides and make strange comments every five seconds? Also yes.

I didn't let it bother me much as I finally put another familiar of mine to use, the Observers. The creepy little eyeballs stayed hidden in trees where they could keep an eye on as many people as possible.

I also hid a few in high-traffic areas, such as the classroom and the few halls that lead to Ragdoll. I'd told Nezu of how she was captured and had her quirk stolen, but only he knows if he gave her and the others any warning.

I did know that Aizawa was still on high alert. He glared at us most of the time because of how loud we could be, but this time it felt personal. He took his time glaring at each person in both classes.

A few in class B were a bit unsettled, but Vlad told them to suck it up and train harder. That upset a few, but their class president, a tall redhead named Itsuka Kendo, kept her class in line, especially Monoma.

I didn't really mind the guy; he was just loud and obnoxious sometimes. He did seem to have a profound hatred of Class A, but Kendo usually kept him in line. I was more worried about the little note that I got from the system randomly as we started working on making lunch.

I'm guessing that ROB with the creepy smile must have shared with his friends(?) about me, and now they were watching? Creepy man. 'Spin it!'

[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]

|Common Ability|

Allows you to create and control ice to a minor degree, not very good for skewering people with icicles, but good for conjuring things like ice cubes or ice knives.

Not a bad ability. I could totally freak out Shoto with this. Maybe style myself like a long-lost cousin or something. That actually boosted my ability count up to ten, giving me a total of three that I could keep active at once.

I kept Six Eyes and Gaster Blaster, while slotting in Corpus Weapon. I needed to mess around and see if I could apply it to the blasters. Stuff for later, however, since it was lunchtime!

Aizawa and the Pussycats had already told us they wouldn't be making us our meals, so it was up to both our classes to work together if we wanted to eat. Right away, Bakugo and Kendo took charge of the cooking as they ordered everyone around.

Turns out Bakugo was a pretty decent cook, he knew exactly what he was going to make and barked orders like a Drill Sergeant. Kendo was there to keep Class B from fighting back against Bakugo's tone, as well as making sure he didn't set anything on fire.

I'd half expected him to chase her off by now like he usually did, but Kendo stuck her ground and pushed back. Too busy cooking to deal with her, Bakugo let her stay rather than blow her apart as they prepared a nice curry for everyone to share.

Even Monoma stopped complaining as he scarfed down his food. Kendo beamed seeing everyone enjoy the food, and even Bakugo's scowl softened until Monoma asked for more, and they started arguing.

"I admit, I didn't expect Bakugo to be able to make anything edible," Shoto said as he polished off his plate. Momo nodded. "It was a pleasant surprise." She added as I hummed in agreement.

Sasha's vote of confidence came from her silence; she was too busy trying to sneak another plate behind Bakugo's back.

After such a filling lunch, some people wanted to take the afternoon more slowly, but Tiger and Aizawa whipped everyone back into shape as they began their afternoon activities. This time around, Aizawa put me with the other mutant quirk users.

I was a bit nervous since Sasha was eyeing me, but Aizawa didn't care.

"Micah. Your quirk manifests as a pair of wings. I want you to fly around about two meters off the ground and avoid getting hit." Aizawa said as I nodded, and he turned to the others. "Your job is to chase him and knock him out of the sky."

I flapped my wings as if my life depended on it. With Sasha, Shoji, and Ojiro chasing after it may as well be. They weren't alone, either, as a slew of Class B students were right behind them.

Sasha and Shoji ended up being the most dangerous as of right now. Sasha knew all of my tricks and didn't let up her pursuit, not giving me any time to thing which was starting to wear on me.

Shijo was another problem altogether. With him being able to turn any one of his tentacles into a new sensory organ, he was able to keep track of Sasha and me as we ran through the forest. This, provided with Ojiro's people skills, meant that they were able to keep me in one area as they slowly tightened the net.

I almost get caught at one point, but the distraction is worth it since I've found what I've been looking for, Kota's cave. I leave one of my observers there to keep an eye on the kid and to alert me when the Vanguard Action Squad arrives.

I don't get to do more than that as Sasha finally catches me. She does so by letting Ojiro take over the chase until I unknowingly circle back around, and she lands on my back after jumping out of a tree.

"You ok, man?" Ojiro asks, skidding to a halt as I catch my breath. "Yeah, just winded is all," I say as the rest catch up to us. Aizawa also emerges from the brush. "You got distracted, that's why you got caught. Add a lack of spatial awareness and not paying attention to your surroundings.

You'll need to work on that some, later though. Everyone starts chasing Sasha. Micah, follow me."

Sasha starts to protest, but Class B lunges for her, forcing her into the tree as they give chase.

Aizawa leads me away from the forested area I was in and towards an open area where I can keep an eye on everyone. Mandalay is waiting for us.

"Mandalay has been informed about what you told Nezu, some of it at least." He explained before lifting something, "This yours? I found on sneaking around in the forest." I nodded but didn't explain what they were as he huffed.

"I'm guessing you can share your vision with them to see what they see. Is there any noise they can make?" I think for a moment and shake my head. "Not that I know of, the best I could probably do is make them explode, or pop, I guess."

"Perfect," Aizawa tossed the observer to Mandalay, who nearly dropped it in disgust. "I'm going to assume you have more of these around the area. If something happens, make the one she has pop so that she can alert everyone, so we aren't caught off guard."

I nod as Mandalay shivers, before finding somewhere she can keep an eye on the observer.

The rest of my time until dinner is actually spent with the emitter quirk group. I was busy making different shapes and constructs with my fire and holding them that way. It was actually a pretty good exercise that I put a spin of my own on.

I started by making a dagger, then compressed it until it was about the size of a kitchen knife. I then made the dagger float around me in a pseudo-orbit as I made more daggers, shrinking them as much as I could until I had a group of ten orbiting me.

Shoto tried to copy me, but he was busy with his own thing, so I was left to my own devices for a few hours until dinner. After getting bored with making daggers, I switched to fireballs. I did the same thing, making one and compressing it as much as possible before making it orbit me. I got up to 15 by dinnertime.

For dinner, Bakugo and Kendo took charge again.

This time, Kendo had somehow convinced Bakugo not to yell at people, which made dinner get finished much quicker than if it had been only the two of them. Like at lunch, everyone split into their groups, but since Aizawa and Vlad had forced both classes to work together during training, a few people had started making friends with the other classes.

My little group stayed the same. Me and Sasha sitting side by side, with Shoto and Momo across from us. We still made friends with anyone we could, but we always defaulted back to this small group when it was time to eat.

As we ate and enjoyed our food and the company, Aizawa announced something that both made our night, and our nightmares.

"Tonight, the Pussycats have decided you've worked hard enough to soak in the hot springs until bedtime. It is split between boys and girls. Don't try anything stupid, Ragdoll is watching just in case.

On the upside, those of you who didn't pass the written exam will be spending their bedtime with me, learning in the classroom until I decide you've suffered enough. Anyone who has to be called out from the hot springs will also be stuck with me until the two weeks are up."

Class A shivered at the thought of being stuck with Aizawa instead of sleep, especially since he'd let them go once 'they'd suffered enough'. Class B didn't have the existential crisis that Class A did, but they were rightly worried regardless.

After dinner, we joined the stampede headed towards the locker rooms as we changed and settled into the hot springs.

Shoto and I sat in a small group next to Bakugo and Tokoyami. It seems the four of us didn't want to do anything other than relax as we sat in silence compared to the rest of the guys and girls, who we could hear talking on the other side of the wall separating us.

I don't know, nor do I want to know who keeps stirring up the girls' side, though I have my suspicions. Monoma is the troublemaker on our side of the wall. I'm half tempted to trap him in the armor I used on Midnight to just let him boil.

I don't in the end as I sink deeper into the water, right up to my neck. It's so soothing and warm that for a moment I forget about all the trouble that will be here not even 24 hours later, keyword, almost.

One of the observers picks up movement around Kota's cave. Switching over to it, my vision takes a minute to adjust to the dim light before I see it, a Nomu. It looks different compared to the USJ Nomu, which still hasn't been found, and the Nomu that attacked Hosu.

It had the normal grotesque muscle mass, but rather than an exposed brain, it had an antenna sticking out of its head, with a small radar dish moving on top. I make sure the observer stays still as another one of Kurogiri's portals opens, and Tomura steps out.

More follows him out. I can identify a few, that being Muscular, Dabi, Twice, Toga, Mr. Compress, and Magne. Kurogiri himself stays behind, though the portal remains. Though unable to hear them, I can tell they are arguing since Tomura and Dabi can't seem to agree on something.

I keep my attention mostly on the Nomu, Twice, and Muscular. Most of these people can be reformed, potentially. The ones that have to die, however, are Muscular, Moonfish, Dabi, and Tomura himself. They are too far gone; I doubt even Nezu would be able to make a program that could help them.

I plan on trying to reach out to Twice to help him, but if I can't, he'll have to go as well. He was too dangerous to be left alive. Canon be damned.
