Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:-

Today was Inspector Vikram's first day at the Chandpur Police Station in Madhya Pradesh.

He had been transferred here from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

This wasn't an ordinary transfer. There was a reason behind it — his honesty.

A few months earlier, a horrific road accident had taken place in Ghaziabad.

The son of a wealthy builder, heavily intoxicated, was recklessly driving his Thar SUV, running over people on the road as he tried to flee.

In that accident, one woman died on the spot, and six others were seriously injured.

The entire city was shaken, and the incident became the talk of the town.

For several days, the police searched for the accused. Eventually, Inspector Vikram and his team managed to track him down after a search operation.

When the boy was brought to the police station, his father, Harish Roy, also arrived.

Harish Roy was a powerful and well-known builder in the city, and also a local councillor.

He tried to speak to Inspector Vikram privately.

"Inspector sahab… he's just a kid, he made a mistake. If you want, this matter can be settled right here… with some understanding."

Vikram listened silently.

Harish Roy slowly placed a file on the table and said —

"There are some papers in this file… and a small token of gratitude. If you wish, the case can become a little lighter."

Inspector Vikram didn't even open the file.

He looked straight into Harish Roy's eyes and said —

"Mr. Roy, this is a police station… not a marketplace."

For a moment, Harish Roy's expression hardened.

Vikram continued —

"Justice is not sold here… it is delivered."

Harish Roy couldn't get his son released… but he did use his power.

Within a few days, Inspector Vikram was transferred.

But Vikram accepted the transfer without any complaint.

For him, performing his duty with honesty was the greatest responsibility.

As soon as he joined duty at Chandpur Police Station, Vikram received an important order.

A senior officer called him into his cabin.

"Inspector Vikram, in a few days, the District Magistrate and the MLA will be attending a wedding in a village."

"Yes, sir," Vikram replied.

"You are being assigned full responsibility for the security of that event."

Vikram stood straight.

"Yes, sir. I won't let anything go wrong."

The officer placed a file in front of him.

"Prepare a team and ensure complete security arrangements. There must not be any disturbance at the wedding."

"Yes, sir."

Inspector Vikram picked up the file… and read the name of the village.

The wedding was to take place in Bada Undwa.

Vikram had no idea yet that this small village was about to become a part of the biggest story of his life —

a case that would turn out to be the most significant of his career.
