Theon spoke quietly. "You do this every time, Ryan. It's starting to get tiring. And I don't want to keep going through this over and over again. I just—"
Ryan cut off his intended words with a kiss. Theon stiffened at first. He stood still with his lips against Ryan's. Then Ryan's hand moved to the back of his neck, holding him gently but firmly.
Then, Theon's shoulders dropped. He gave in. His hands came up and rested on Ryan's chest. And he kissed him back.
The kiss was intense and almost desperate. All the frustration, the anger, the months of silence were all poured into the kiss.
They broke apart briefly, both breathing heavily.
"I shouldn't be doing this," Theon whispered. He kissed him again.
When they pulled apart, Theon kept his eyes closed for a moment. When he opened them, he looked at Ryan. He did not smile. He did not look happy. He looked tired.
"You can't just show up like this," Theron said.
