Chapter 9 - Going Towards End

Silence feels the air.

The atmosphere feels heavy.

I see, it is Zaggy.

He is dead. Blood flows.

I notice his face. He is still smiling.

My heart beats. I stand numb.

Wind blows.

His words are still in my head.

"Johnny! Why did you do this?" I ask.

He smiles.

I turn around and around.

Nobody feels for his death, except his mother.

She crys. She kneels.

"Zaggy!", she shouts.

Nobody cares. All of them only want to know who is powerful.

I watch Johnny's face. No guilt in his face.

"Hey you! I think you know the rules," I continue, "You are disqualified."

Someone laughs. I turn.

It is John. He steps towards me.

"He is still in the game!", he says.

"What?", I ask.

"Yes! Everybody wants John to continue this game!", he says.

I watch the audience.

"Start the competition!", one shouts.

"Don't waste my time!", another one shouts.

"Stop! You monsters!", I shout.

They are not listening to me.

"Johnny! I thought you were good!", I say.

"That was your mistake!", he continues, "I promised my father!"

I turn.

Many participants begin to leave the battleground.

Fear of being killed arises among them.

"Zeo! You may also leave!" Johnny continues, "I don't want to kill you!"

I walk.

"Johnny is the winner!", John shouts.

I laugh. Everybody watches me.

"I am… still in the game!", I shout.

I turn my head. I watch Johnny.

I smile.

Johnny rushes towards me.

He hacks vertically. I sidestep.

His sword misses me.

I pivot and swing my sword.

He dodges, but too slow. My sword grazes his stomach. Blood spills.

He swings his sword horizontally.

I vault. He again misses me.

I dash. I slash. He ducks.

My sword cuts his hair.

"You are slow!", I say.

His face looks fury.

He jumps. He stabs. I evade.

He slashes continuously. Nothing touches me.

Audience watch curiously.

His sword slashes. I parry.

Metals clash.

I push him.

He charges. I advance.

I slash. He deflects.

He counters. I block.

I riposte. He ducks. My sword misses him.

He jumps back. He lunges.

He hacks. I evade, but too slow. His sword severs my left hand.

Blood sprays. Blood bleeds profusely.

Pain surges. I have no arms.

My heart thumps heavily.

I can't stand. I kneel.

My blood flows from my wound.

I am armless and helpless.

The audience starts claping.

Johnny turns.

"The only challenger is going to die," he continues, "I am the winner!"

I feel numb. The moment, I feel unconscious.

It is going to end.
