Chapter 14 - The Mother

The atmosphere feels heavy.

No wind, only numbness.

The sphere grows more and more.

"Here! The time has come!" I shout.

The soldiers watch me.

"Crimson Reforge!" I say.

The sphere expands and begins to crystallize. Red crystals form.

Large wings stretch out—no spiky feathers, only smooth wings.

Sharp claws form from its legs.

Blood flows inside its body through veins.

Liquid blood covers its body irregularly. It flows. It looks like fire burning within it.

The form flies. Bigger in size.

The soldiers stand silent.

Fear rises. Tension burns.

"Crimson Phoenix!" I call it.

It moves toward me.

I touch it. It feels like we are already connected.

It crackles. The sound alone shakes the ground. Dust rises.

Prince watches me with delight.

I grin.

"Form!" I command the Phoenix.

It turns and moves toward the soldiers.

Some soldiers run, and some stand bravely.

But death is inevitable.

The Phoenix doesn't attack them.

I know the reason.

"Zeo! It doesn't attack!" the Prince says.

"Because it is the mother of the Crimson Legion," I continue. "It only collects blood."

"She is a mother!" he exclaims.

Prince is very kind.

He sees the Phoenix as human.

"Yes… she is a mother," I reply.

"Why does she collect blood?" he asks.

"You will understand soon," I reply.

I rush toward the soldiers.

I swing my sword. It cleaves a soldier. Blood spills out.

The Phoenix absorbs the blood.

Auron kills more soldiers.

The blood moves toward the Phoenix.

Five soldiers rush at me. I slash horizontally. Blood sprays.

I move as fast as I can.

I rip through a soldier with my sword.

I tear apart many soldiers.

A soldier walks toward me.

There is no fear in his eyes.

I blink. He disappears.

For a moment, time freezes.

He stands behind me.

I can't turn.

He tears into my back. Blood spills onto the ground.

My wounds heal instantly.

Fear builds on his face.

"How can you regenerate this fast?" he asks.

I grin.

"I can regenerate in 0.3 seconds," I say. "I don't even have to think."

"What?" he asks.

"Auto-regeneration," I reply.

He stands silent.

I sever his hands.

"I can regenerate!" he says with confidence.

I laugh.

"Regenerate if you can," I say.

Fear burns in his eyes.

He tries to regenerate.

But he can't.

"Anti-regeneration," I say.

I dash forward and sever his head.

"Fear kills power," I say.

The Phoenix crackles. The time has come.

Destruction is about to begin.

Blood stretches out from its body.

A new sphere forms.

It is already massive.

"Yes!" I exclaim.

Finally… I am going to win.

Something crosses my mind.

The Prince is missing.

I forgot him.

I have to find him.

My heart races.Fear flows through my veins.Sweat drips.
