AREA: AKIBARA RUIN
"Thanks," Raikun says as he gets off the taxi. The cold breeze hits his face as the taxi drives off.
Akibara Ruin — four big towers surround the area, the red signals going off endlessly. The neon lights on the buildings flicker, and there's a faint smell of gunpowder — possibly one of the few places he likes.
"Feels weird to be back here. Wonder what Ken has in store for me."
He walks, removing his hoodie, letting his hair fall over his face.
He turns on his phone and sees a message from Ken.
"YO Rai, meet me up at the first Tower. The guards won't be around."
He reads it, then turns the phone off as he walks toward the first Tower. The trees are withering away, and the sound of falling leaves is faint but audible.
The mist crawls into his lungs, making it hard to breathe. He finally makes it up to the first Tower to meet Ken.
"It's been long, right?" A sweet, husky voice comes from afar. Blonde hair shines under the flickering light as moths gather beneath it.
Ken — not a friend. Never was. But he claims himself to be one. Ironic.
Plus, he's one of them too.
"You done talking with yourself in your head, Rai?" He smiles, his yellow eyes lighting up with excitement.
"Relax. You're gonna like this one," he says as he walks closer, his boots squelching with every step.
"Here," he whispers, tossing a gun into his hands.
Raikun's eyes widen as he catches it. He looks at Ken, then back at the weapon, examining it slowly.
"An XC-100?" Raikun says, his eyes gleaming.
"Yes," Ken replies.
XC-100 — no way. Only heard of it before. A weapon that can kill contagions from within.
Raikun's grip tightens around the gun.
Neurostone. Only government officials can get a hold of this… and Ken is, well—
His hands grow cold as the thought settles in.
Water drips — slow and steady.
Ken's voice quickly fills the room.
"Yeah. Got it smuggled here. Don't think the BCC would notice you taking it. Doesn't have trackers in it."
BCC — government dogs, created to hunt down contagions..
Well…
Ken is one of them.
