As Arisa's older brother, Aryan, stormed into the drawing room like a hurricane, the sky outside rumbled with thunder. His eyes burned with volcanic rage. Abir Khan took the final sip of his coffee and stood up from the sofa with calculated calmness. The intense stare-down between the two men felt like it was charging the very air with electricity. Aryan was no ordinary man, but even he felt small against the sheer power Abir radiated.
"Abir Khan!" Aryan roared. "Where is my sister? How dare you keep her trapped like this? Do you have any idea what the police will do to you?"
Abir took a step forward, a familiar mocking smile playing on his lips. He stopped inches away from Aryan's face.
"Mr. Aryan, you seem to forget whose territory you are standing in," Abir said coldly. "In this city, I am the law. Arisa is here because I willed it, and she will stay mine forever. I am not letting her go anywhere, not even back to her own family."
At that exact moment, Arisa stumbled down the stairs. Seeing her pale face, disheveled hair, and the dark circles under her eyes, Aryan felt a sharp pain in his chest. He tried to rush toward her, but at a subtle signal from Abir, the bodyguards blocked his path with brute force.
"Bhaiya!" Arisa cried out, her voice trembling and broken. "Please, take me away from here. This man is insane! He wants to keep me prisoner. Bhaiya, I want to live!"
Abir glanced at Arisa, then reached into his pocket and pulled out the delicate silver chain. The faint clinking of the metal sounded like a death knell in her ears. He turned back to Aryan with a deadly ultimatum.
"If you do not leave this house this very second," Abir hissed, "Arisa will lose the person she loves most in this world forever. The choice is yours—do you want to see your sister alive, or do you want to take your final breath today?"
Aryan stood frozen. He realized that fighting Abir right now would be a suicide mission. Arisa's eyes were filled with a mix of despair and terror. Could she ever escape with her brother into the free world? Or was she destined to be lost forever in Abir's dark empire?
