Just when the sun was rising, the sky painted itself in the hues of red, orange, yellow and blue.
The North Star was slowly disappearing into the brightness of the sun.
The sandy floor of the beach felt like it was trying to draw the outline of our feet as we walked.
The sounds of tides hitting against each other in a peaceful and calming symphony made my heart beat slower, but the reminder of the situation made it start pounding again.
Birds were tweeting and flying across the skies as if they were playing around and chasing each other.
The sea seemed to combine with the sky in a cheerful connection at the far end of the horizon.
It felt as though the specks of sand were glitters that lined the coast and shined whenever and from wherever someone's eyes landed on them.I raised my head to look at the guy walking beside me.
His dark brown eyes reflected the sun in a way his dark brown eyes appeared like coins adorned with gold flakes.
His two dark brown, attractive eyes reflected the sun, transforming them into coins flecked with gold. He paused and turned to me fully, the weight of some unspoken words hanging between us like morning mist.
My eyes traced the outline of his silhouette, the way his brownish skin reflected the sun's rays, the soft breeze brushed past his tousled hair, his eyes stared into mine with an intensity which felt unreal and appealing to me.
Just as I was getting lost, he asked in a soft, calming yet a teasing tone which felt like a lullaby to my ears,
"Kya hua? Aise kya ghoore ja rhi ho?" He joked and chuckled. His gentle laughters seemed to be the sun that rises after the raging storms calm down.
I chuckled too, not being able to pull my eyes away from the man standing in front of me. No words came out of my mouth, as if my lips were sealed with an invisible stitch. I just shook my head with a small smile on my face and gestured to him to continue walking.
We started walking again, the sound of the sea and the chirping of the birds did almost nothing to hide the pounding of my heart inside my ribs. I was sure he could hear it too from the way his eyes stole glances at me. I looked up at him, my eyes meeting his own as the world around us became a blur. My ears focused on the sound of him breathing, the soft beating of his heart and the excited beats of my own and the sound of our footsteps on the dusty floor of the beach. I could almost feel the warmth of his body that was radiating out of his skin. The waves were hitting our bare feet like an unheard yet rhythmic symphony.
I wanted to say a million words but the phrases got stuck in my throat, as if I had no control over anything I was doing. It felt strange that a cold sensation washed over me. I lowered my head to look at the imprints that were being left behind by our feet.
Our footsteps were lining the shore—walking together but never meeting once.
As darkness started to blind my vision with a sudden veil of blackness, I pressed my eyes close. The feeling of warmth and joy slowly wore off and when I opened my eyes, I wasn't on any beach, accompanied by Arth. I was alone in four closed, cold walls, laying on my bed. It was a dream. It was a fantasy and I was the dreamer.
Maybe two parallel lines in a two dimensional plane that walk their own way,
Either close or further off, but never meeting,
continuing to stay away.
Maybe it's a doomed story expressed in a mathematical invention,
But feelings remain the same, no new stories, but the same emotion.
