The meeting room in the royal palace of new Brazil was filled with tension. Dom Pedro II, the 25 year old young man was sitting on the luxurious seat in the centre of the table while many other nobles and officials were sitting on his both sides.
"The main topic of discussion of today's meeting is how to navigate our future relationship with Amazon Lilly. It will decide the reign of His highness in Brazil and the stability of the country in the upcoming decades." The minister sitting right beside the young emperor spoke up.
"Before the beginning of any argument, I wish to hear all the details regarding this matter and on which basis you are claiming that my reign will be under question, Duke Leon." The young emperor spoke up.
"Of course, your majesty. To understand my concern, all of course will have to look back all the way to 1810 when Amazon Lily was declared independent from Portugal colonization.
Back then, the new Brazil was still under the direct control of Portugal. But it had all the valuable natural resources, fertile land and a massive work force of slaves.
Compared to the new Brazil, Amazon Lily lacked the natural resources like the gold and diamond mines. Its population was extremely low. More than 60% of the land mass of Amazon Lily was covered with uninhabitable Amazon rainforest. From the remaining lands only 60% was fertile enough to grow crops.
But over the last 30 years, that country has developed so much that it is now richer and more powerful than even the new Brazil. Despite having very little fertile land, it was not only managing to grow enough crops and vegetables to feed its own population, but also growing sugarcane, rubber and cocoa.
No matter how much we call them a "country without shame", the truth is that they have become very influential. Currently, Amazon Lily is exporting 99% of chemical medicines and healthcare tools to all over the world. They had good relationships with the United States, Britain, Germany, Soviet Nation and China. Of course the princess of Amazon Lily herself had a lot of personal influence over Portugal too.
When there is such a stark difference between two kingdoms who were once equal, neither commoners nor lower level nobles are happy. Most importantly. Amazon Lilly has ended slavery and has become way more prosperous than new Brazil. The difference is making the slaves and commoners upset.
While there has been no major uprising, we have already seen the early signs of mass dissatisfaction with the current ruling power in the last couple of years. It is only a matter of time before people will start revolting against us on a massive scale.
In this case, I propose that we discuss two things simultaneously. How to stop these mass uprisings and how to proceed with our future relation with Amazon Lily. Because the influence of that nation is the main reason why we are facing such a crisis." The Duke finished his explanation.
"Should we go to war ? I mean that if we managed to invade and occupy the coastal region of Amazon Lily then, the direct trade route would be cut off. And once that happens, we can force them to restart slavery."
"Have you lost your mind, conde Nasca ? How do you think the United States will react to that? Amazon Lily is currently not just a neutral country. It is getting indirect backing from many other countries. Didn't you hear a single thing about my explanation ?"
"I did, Duke Leon. But does it really matter ? As long as I move fast enough, their army is not strong enough to oppose us. After getting freed they have spent their money on research and development instead of building an army. We will crush their numbers before the other countries could interfere. And let's be honest. As long as there is no profit, no other country would interfere with our action."
"Conde Nasca. It seems that I need to remind you a bit of history. Portugal won the orange war not because they had large numbers or massive firepower. Portugal won because they successfully mixed an untraceable poison in the food of the enemy. And believe me, Amazon Lily has even more potent poison than the past. Just because it is a neutral country, doesn't mean that it is easy to bully. Whenever a noble gets sick, they eat medicine produced by that country. It's not wise to start a pointless fight that will get us nowhere."

Hancock finished reading all the reports regarding the progress of the construction projects. The scientific development in the field of biology has reached a bottleneck. Currently, Amazon Lilly has a lot of scientists working in different universities. But despite that, there was something that a good brain cannot compensate for. And that was, technological gap.
It was not Tony Stark who discovered Starkium, a new element that became the main power source behind the arc reactor. It was Howard Stark who did it after studying and experimenting on the space stone or the tesseract exactly. But he couldn't synthesize it due to the technological gaps. And Amazon Lily was facing the exact problem.
From the very beginning, Hancock's aim was to dominate in the field of biology, biotechnology and genetic engineering before the beginning of the 21st century. And there was a simple reason behind that. Amazon Lilly didn't have any natural resources. The only things it has, were a couple of small coal mines. Unless the technology is improved, currently they don't have any natural minerals. That was the reason why Amazon Lily had to import most of the construction materials for their infrastructure development.
Of course Hancock was not going to sit still while the development was frozen. Amazon Lily might not be rich like wakanda, but it was definitely not poor. And considering that no one in the current time is providing the world with cures of diseases, Amazon Lilly has become the only hope. That's why Hancock was planning to take advantage of it.

"Princess… The port is on sight. We have reached Bombay." Niger Crombs, the recently appointed butler of Hancock, informed her after entering her cabin.
Niger was one of the few volunteer soldiers who had joined the military after the independence of Amazon Lily. Back then he was very young, around 15 years old. Slowly but surely he climbed in the ranks and reached the position of a general before retiring. Hancock had chosen him as her butler or the personal assistant to be exact.
She was currently on a trip to India. And unlike her previous visit around 1765, this time she was coming as the leader of a country.
There were a lot of reasons why Hancock had chosen India as her future business partner.
It was a good thing that she had chosen this place for training years ago. Back then she had learnt a lot of things about ancient India. If someone will compare ancient India with the current India, then the difference would be very clear. It had regressed and had lost all its past Glory. And by 1947 when this country is going to get its freedom Britishers will have taken away all of its wealth. Well, wealth and resources were not among the important reasons why Hancock was interested in India. Her main goal was ancient knowledge and technology that was lost to the current India.
In her previous visit, she had come across a Hindu sage who had done organ transplantation and had saved a child in front of her eyes near the Himalayas. He had not believed that until she had seen it with her own eyes. The surgery was done without any advanced medical tools. And it was the transplantation of a kidney.
No one in that era could ever achieve such precise success in surgery of an internal organ. When she later searched for more information, she found that it was indeed part of ancient Indian technology. And this knowledge and technology does not end at just a normal surgery. From rejuvenation to controlled mutation, everything was possible. It was there, Hancock learnt how monks and sages could survive months without food and water by controlling their metabolism and even expanding their lifespan.
Unfortunately, not everyone was willing to teach her or share their knowledge with her.
But now she had another way she could use to gain this knowledge to speed up the development in Amazon Lily.
