Chapter 11 - Chapter -12 He refused to tell her

The silence didn't settle.

It lingered—

Heavy.

Unfinished.

Aarya could still feel it.

The presence that had been there.

The way the air had turned cold…

The way Kael had reacted.

Not just alert.

Not just protective.

Something else.

Something closer to fear.

She looked at him carefully. His jaw was still tight.

His eyes darker than before—

Not from desire now.

From something heavier.

"You're not telling me something."

Her voice was quiet.

But steady.

Kael didn't respond.

He turned slightly—

Like he was about to walk away.

Aarya moved before she thought.

Her hand caught his wrist.

Firm.

Not hesitant.He stilled instantly.

Not because she stopped him.

But because she touched him.

Again.

"Don't," she said softly.

"Don't walk away this time."

Silence stretched between them.

His gaze dropped—

Not to her face.

To her hand.

Wrapped around his wrist.

Holding him there.

Something shifted in his expression,Not anger.

Not control.

Something far more dangerous.

"You shouldn't do that," he said quietly.

Aarya didn't let go.

If anything—

Her grip tightened slightly.

"Then stop reacting like this," she replied.

Her voice dropped—

softer now.

More dangerous.

"Stop looking at me like I'm something you can't leave."

That did it.

Kael turned back fully.

Too fast.

Too close.

The space between them disappeared again.

His hand came up—

Not rough.

But not asking either.

His fingers wrapped around her wrist—

Slowly.

Deliberately.

"That's because you are," he said.

The words were low.

Controlled.But something underneath them—

Wasn't.

Aarya's breath hitched again.

Not loudly.

But enough.

Enough for him to notice.

His gaze flickered—

Just for a moment.

Catching the rise of her breathing again.

The way her body reacted—

Even now.

Even after everything.

His grip tightened slightly.

"You still don't understand," he murmured.Aarya shook her head slowly.

"Then tell me."

This time—

He didn't look away.

Didn't step back.

Didn't avoid it.

But he didn't answer either.

Because the truth—

Was worse than anything she imagined.

"That thing…" she said slowly,

"It said my blood changes you."

Silence.

His reaction was subtle.Too subtle for anyone else to notice.

But not for her.

"So it's true."

Her voice dropped—

not questioning anymore.

Realizing.

Kael exhaled slowly.

Like he had been holding that moment back.

"Your blood isn't normal," he said finally.

Aarya's heart tightened.

"What does that mean?"

He stepped closer again.

Not threatening Not soft.

Just… drawn.

"It means," he said quietly,

his gaze locking onto hers—

"you affect things you shouldn't."

Aarya swallowed slowly.

"And you?"

A pause.

His hand lifted again—

brushing lightly against her jaw.

Not forceful.

Not distant either.

"You don't just affect me," he said His voice dropped—

darker now.

"You undo me."

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Real.

And for the first time—

Aarya didn't try to step away from that truth.

She leaned closer instead
