"I want you," Adeline whispered, her voice soft and full of longing.
Gideon rested his forehead against hers for a moment before pulling back slightly. "We need to travel early in the morning," he reminded her gently. "Trust me, it's hard for me to stop, too. But I don't want you to be tired when we reach our destination."
Adeline pouted, her lips pressing together in clear disappointment. She pulled her nightdress back up to cover her chest and sat up a little, fiddling with her fingers. "Then why did you take us this far?" she mumbled.
He leaned down, brushing the back of his fingers tenderly down her cheek. His golden eyes softened as he whispered, "Don't worry. Once we get there, we aren't leaving the bed for as long as you want."
Her cheeks flushed a deep pink at his words. Her heart hammered hard against her chest. A strange excitement and warmth were spreading through her body.
