Adeline brushed her teeth while recalling what Gideon had told her over dinner. It was true that Janessa despised her. Her stepsister's jealousy had only increased into something far more dangerous once Adeline married Gideon; instead of being killed as they had hoped, she was being deeply pampered by the Prince.
She rinsed her mouth, turned off the tap, and returned to the bedroom after dabbing her face dry with a towel.
Gideon had just lowered his phone and turned around to face her as she walked in. "I informed Dad about our departure, just in case he wants to me in the morning," he stated.
"You did great," Adeline replied, offering a soft smile before a question weighed on her mind. "Did Tiger find out anything new about my father's murder?" she asked. "I haven't brought it up until now, assuming you would just update me whenever there was progress."
