Edith pressed her foot down on the brake pedal the moment she spotted Viktor waiting for her by the gates of his new residence.
She practically scrambled out of the driver's seat and ran straight toward him. He caught her securely in his arms as she threw her arms around his neck, holding him tightly.
They remained locked in the embrace for a quiet minute before finally pulling back.
"Let's go inside," Viktor said, placing a reassuring hand against her back and guiding her toward the entrance.
As they walked, Edith noticed that this house was considerably larger than his previous one, surrounded by much more lush greenery. Stepping into the main living room, her eyes immediately went to a large grey couch positioned perfectly in the center of the space.
"Make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back," Viktor whispered before turning to head toward the kitchen.
