Chapter 9 - Recovery

After five days of travel, the airship slowly landed at the airport.

Victor walked out of the terminal and immediately noticed a massive tower that seemed to touch the clouds.

It was Heaven's Arena, the fourth-tallest building in the world. It was a place where countless fighters gathered, some fighting for fame, others for money.

After staring at the tower for a while, Victor looked away and began walking toward the city. Fifteen minutes later, he reached the bustling streets.

He saw people everywhere discussing recent fights and betting on their favorite warriors. The city was filled with martial arts dojos and fighters from all over the world.

Victor asked a pedestrian for the location of a housing agency. Once he got the address, he followed the directions and arrived ten minutes later.

Inside, he inquired about a place to stay and eventually selected a rental property.

Twenty minutes later, Victor reached his new home. Since he didn't have much money left, he had chosen a place on the outskirts of the city.

After entering his place he checked the place put down his things.

Before starting to challenge Heavens Arena he want to first make his body recover from his mal nutrition.

Because of eating less food his face was sunken and his hands are already very thin.

When fighting in Meteor city he was facing people with similar state but in heavens arena he will face people who are already training for many years.

He already realized his situation during his fight with Silas.

So for next period of time Victor will train his body and eat

He went inside, looked around, and put his things down.

Victor knew he couldn't go to Heavens Arena yet. He needed to fix his body first. Because he hadn't eaten enough for a long time, his face was hollow and his arms were very thin.

In Meteor City, everyone was starving like him. But in Heavens Arena, he would fight people who had been training and eating well for years. He realized this during his hard fight with Silas.

For the next few months, Victor's only goal is to train his body and eat as much as possible to get strong.

After checking out his new home, Victor headed to the supermarket to buy groceries. He stocked up on everything he needed, walked back, cooked a large meal, and went straight to sleep.

For the next three weeks, Victor didn't lift a single weight. He focused only on eating high-calorie, protein-dense foods to fix his broken metabolism. Slowly, he stopped looking like a Ghost.

His sunken cheeks filled out, and he finally began to look like a healthy human being. Looking in the mirror, Victor felt a wave of satisfaction, his body was finally ready.

Next, he moved on to Phase 2: Functional Training. He started with the basics: push-ups, squats, planks, and burpees. Because of his talents, his body adapted fast, and he quickly increased his repetitions.

After a few weeks of this, he felt full of energy.

Finally, he started Phase 3: Building Strength. He found a local gym and began heavy lifting—deadlifts, front squats, pull-ups, and bench presses.

Victor stayed consistent for two months, and the results were incredible. He had transformed completely.

He no longer looked like he was about to die; instead, he looked energetic, muscular, and powerful.

The next day, Victor stepped out of his home and walked toward the Heavens Arena.

Today was the day he would finally sign up. The Arena was the perfect place for his system; talented fighters from all over the world gathered here. If he defeated them, he could harvest a massive variety of new talents.

After a 15-minute walk, he reached the entrance. Victor watched the crowds of people coming and going before stepping inside. He headed to the registration area and found a very long line. He walked to the back and waited patiently.

An hour later, it was finally his turn. A lady in a clean uniform looked at him and smiled.

"Welcome to the Heavens Arena," she said. "Please fill out this form."

Victor picked up the pen and quickly wrote down his details. He handed the paper back, and the lady typed the information into her computer.

"Victor Kross, you are #1999," she said. "They will call your number on the first floor, so make sure to remember it."

She smiled again and then pointed. "Please, walk this way."

Victor walked into the arena. There were many rings, and the crowd was cheering loudly. He found a seat and watched the other fighters while waiting for his turn.

After five minutes, a voice on the speaker said:

"#1999 and #1973, please go to Ring A!"

Victor walked to the ring. Inside, he saw a referee and his opponent, a big, muscular man named Ben.

Ben looked at Victor and laughed. "Hey kid, this isn't a game. Go home before you get hurt!"

The people watching also laughed. Someone shouted, "What is a kid doing here?" Another person yelled, "Ben, finish him fast! This is an easy win!"

Victor ignored them all.

The referee stepped forward and said, "On the first floor, we test your skill. You have three minutes to show us how good you are. START!"

Ben ran at Victor and threw a hard, straight punch. He was smiling, thinking the fight was already over.

But Victor saw the punch coming. He stepped to the side quickly. Ben's fist hit only air, and he stumbled forward, completely off-balance.

Victor, standing at Ben's side, took advantage of the opening and landed a sharp jab.

Ben's eyes rolled back as he collapsed onto the mat, completely unconscious.

[Heavy-Handed Impact (Green) acquired.]

[System Notification: Fusion detected.]

Victor ignored the system prompts for now.

The referee stepped forward and checked Ben. Seeing that he was out cold, he turned his gaze toward Victor.

"Fast movements, great reading of the opponent's attacks, and decent power," the referee muttered.

He entered some data into a small machine, and a receipt printed out. He handed it to Victor.

"#1999, proceed to Floor 20."

Victor took the receipt and walked out of the ring.

As soon as Victor walked out, he checked the system and saw a new green talent.

[Heavy-Handed Impact] (Green)Description: Congratulations! You've finally stopped slapping people like a wet noodle. You've realized that your arm is basically just a fleshy crane for a very heavy rock. Your punches now have the subtle charm of a falling anvil, making every strike feel like a personal insult from a sledgehammer.

After checking his green talent, Victor looked at the fusion:

[Steel-Vitreous Physique] (Blue)[Robust Constitution] + [Wasteland Adaptation] + [Brawler's Instinct] + [Impact Convergence] + [Heavy-Handed Impact]

Description: Congratulations! You are no longer made of paper and bad memories. Your muscles have the density of high-tension cables, and your skeleton feels like it was forged in a factory rather than grown in a womb. You can finally use your Purple talents without your legs exploding like faulty fireworks. It's a miracle you can still breathe with lungs this dense.

Victor's eyes shone. This was exactly what he needed. His lack of physical power had made it harder to knock opponents out of the ring, which had reduced his rating and landed him only a 20th-floor ticket.

Victor didn't trigger the fusion immediately. Instead, he hurried out of the Heavens Arena and rushed home. Once inside, he quickly locked the door.

Victor opened the system and whispered in his mind, "Fuse."

A system prompt appeared: [Steel-Vitreous Physique (Blue) acquired.]

Immediately, Victor was hit by a wave of cold pain. His bones vibrated and shrunk, becoming as dense as industrial rebar. His muscle fibers tightened like high-tension cables. He dropped to his knees, and the floor actually groaned, leaving shallow marks where he touched the surface. He hadn't grown any taller, but his density had tripled. He was still a small boy, but he now possessed the crushing weight of a boulder.

The pain disappeared quickly, replaced by an overwhelming sense of power. Victor felt as though he could punch through a steel plate with ease and probably break it into pieces.

After the fusion, Victor immediately felt a wave of intense hunger. His new, high-density muscles and "industrial-grade" organs required massive amounts of food to stabilize. He opened the fridge and finished every meal he had prepared, eating until he was finally full.

Once his energy was restored, Victor walked out of his house and headed back toward Heavens Arena. Since he had won his first match so easily, he knew he might be assigned another fight today.
