Chapter 13 - Mafia

After killing them, Victor disposed the bodies of both Kane and Abel. Since it was still night, there were not many people around.

Victor dumped their bodies in a random street so the police would find them. After that, he went home and started cleaning the bloodstains from the floor.

On the other side, Don Veretti and Nacho were sitting together in a private room. On the table between them were several glasses and a bottle of expensive alcohol.

Nacho sat with a slightly panicked expression on his face, but on the inside, he was happy, Don Veretti picked up his glass and downed the alcohol in one gulp.

After drinking, he slammed the glass down and shouted angrily, "Why haven't they called yet?"

He glared at Nacho and commanded, "Nacho, call them!"

Nacho dialed the number, but no one picked up. He looked at Don Veretti and said, "Boss, no one is answering."

Hearing this, Don Veretti shouted, "What is taking them so long? He is just a small brat! It looks like the quality of Heavens Arena fighters is really degrading."

Suddenly, a knock came at the door. Don Veretti shouted, "Come in!"

A man with a panicked expression rushed inside. He looked at both Don Veretti and Nacho, his voice trembling. "Boss, the police found the bodies of Kane and Abel! It's all over the news since they were both quite famous fighters."

The glass in Don Veretti's hand slipped, hitting the floor and shattering into pieces. He looked at Nacho, his face pale with sudden panic. "Quickly! Turn on the TV!"

Nacho hurried to turn on the television and switched to the local news channel. On the screen, they saw the bodies of Kane and Abel being carried on stretchers and loaded into an ambulance. The reporter was describing the scene as a "brutal double homicide."

After looking at the bodies on the screen, Don Veretti was filled with intense fear. He turned to his only confidant, Nacho, and stammered, "What... What should we do now?"

Nacho, maintaining his fake expression of panic, replied quickly, "Boss, I think we should gather all our men immediately. We should also hire more fighters from Heavens Arena."

He leaned in closer, his eyes wide. "That brat's next target will be us. If we gather enough firepower, we can definitely kill him when he shows his face."

Don Veretti, desperate for safety ordered. "Quickly! Gather my men! If that brat comes to kill me, he will be the one who ends up dead!"

On the other side, after Victor finished cleaning the floor, he took a nap and woke up the next morning.

After cleaning himself up, Victor left his house and walked in a specific direction. As he walked, the scenery changed from the bustling city to the slums. Victor stopped in front of a shop where the only person present was a shopkeeper reading a newspaper.

Seeing Victor, the man put down his paper and asked, "What do you want?"

"Intelligence," Victor said.

The man looked left and right. When he saw no one was around, he said in a low voice, "Come inside through the side door."

Victor walked inside. The shopkeeper was already sitting at a table with an empty chair opposite him. Victor sat down, and the shopkeeper asked, "What information do you need?"

"Don Veretti and his background," Victor replied.

The shopkeeper looked surprised. "You are the fourth person to come for this information today." He then said calmly, "It will cost 500,000 Jenny."

Victor took out a wad of cash, counted it, and placed it on the table. The shopkeeper took the money and began to speak.

"Don Veretti is a member of the mafia. His main businesses are illegal betting, Casino, Human Trafficking, Prostitution. His current confidant is a man named Nacho. His current address is..."

The shopkeeper provided every minute detail about Don Veretti. After finishing, the shopkeeper paused for a minute and said, "This part is not confirmed, but treat it as a bonus, Don Veretti is working for one of the Ten Dons."

Victor was confused. Usually, intelligence dealers have some information, but they rarely have such specific details.

"Where did you get this information?" Victor asked.

The shopkeeper wasn't surprised by the question. "Usually, it's a taboo to share a source, but not for this. Last night, someone sold this information to several dealers in the city. We don't know the person's name, but we have confirmed the intelligence is true."

Victor nodded, stood up, and left.

After obtaining the information, Victor walked out of the store and headed back. While walking, he thought, 'What should I do? That man is working for one of the Ten Dons. In the anime, they were killed off quickly, and they might not be a problem for high-level Nen users. But for me, someone who hasn't even learned Nen yet, it might be a problem.'

'First, I'll scout Don Veretti's place. If there are Nen users present, I will avoid him temporarily and get my revenge later.'

Victor followed the address, and as he got closer, he quickly climbed a nearby high-rise building to scout the area.

From his vantage point, Victor saw a large number of men in suits carrying heavy firearms. He counted about 20 to 30 armed guards in the garden alone; he knew there would likely be even more inside.

He carefully observed the bungalow, creating a detailed map in his memory. His [Tactical Master] talent allowed him to efficiently plan his infiltration, identifying guard patterns and blind spots.

After observing the bungalow, Victor walked back to his home. He knew he had to act tonight while the information was still fresh and the Don was still panicking.

On the way, Victor purchased some black clothes and a cap to help him blend into the night.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slowly, time passed.

The day ended and night came. It was 2:50 AM.

Victor, who had been observing the bungalow from a distance, put down his binoculars and pulled his cap low over his head. He jumped from one building to another without making a sound. Using his high-density muscles for perfect balance, he moved from roof to roof until he reached the edge of the estate.

After getting near the bungalow, he slowed down. He saw two men guarding the outside of the boundary wall. Both of them looked worn out from standing for such a long time. Suddenly, one of them started walking away to patrol the perimeter.

Victor followed him like a shadow.

Rocco, was walking to check if anything was wrong on the other side. He had no idea what was happening, his boss had suddenly summoned everyone and ordered them to guard the place with their lives.

As Rocco turned the corner, his vision suddenly went black.

Before he could make a sound, he collapsed silently onto the ground.

Victor who was behind carried him on his back silently and hide his body in a corner.

Because he was still only twelve years old, Victor couldn't wear Rocco uniform; otherwise, it would have been a perfect disguise.

After hiding Rocco, Victor observed the second guard who had been standing with Rocco. The moment the man turned his head, Victor saw his chance. He appeared behind him instantly and delivered a precise strike to the neck.

The guard collapsed silently to the ground. Victor picked up the body and dumped it in the shadows next to Rocco to keep the perimeter looking clear.

With the entrance clear, Victor climbed the side of Don Veretti's bungalow like a spider, using his high-density grip to scale the walls until he reached the terrace.

He peaked over the edge and saw a lone guard standing watch. Taking advantage of the man's turned back, Victor slipped onto the terrace without a sound and immediately knocked him unconscious.

Knowing that there were too many guards with heavy firearms in the garden, Victor decided his best option was to eliminate Don Veretti silently.

He dragged the unconscious guard into a dark corner where no one would notice him.

Victor then opened the terrace door leading into the bungalow. As he stepped inside, he noticed the hallways were empty, but he kept his guard up and walked cautiously.

Victor walked on, but seeing no one in the house made him even more alert. He moved through the corridors, checking the rooms one by one, and found most of them empty.

Finally, only one large door was left.

Victor walked toward the room and pressed his ear against the wood. He heard no sound at all, so he slowly pushed the door open.

Inside, he saw a man standing in loose martial arts clothing, he was incredibly muscular and stood there. Another man sat behind a large desk, smoking a cigar.

Seeing a 12-year-old kid enter the room, the man put down his cigar and smiled with total confidence.

"Took you long enough, brat," Don Veretti said. "But don't worry. Jerry here will kill you. He is a fighter from the 199th floor, just one win away from the 200th. He will torture..."

Before Don Veretti could even finish his sentence, he froze. Jerry, who had been standing tall just a second ago, suddenly collapsed to the floor. Victor was now standing exactly where the fighter had been.

Don Veretti tried to speak, but his vision blurred and he felt intense pain from his neck. He reached up with his left hand and felt something wet and sticky. When he pulled his hand away, he saw it was covered in dark red blood. But before he could say anything he lost consciousness.

Victor calmly cleaned the blood off his knife and left the room without looking back.
