The next morning…
Soft sunlight filtered through the car window, gently lighting up the space inside. The darkness of the night had faded.
Saara was still asleep, her breathing now calm and steady—so different from the storm she had gone through the previous night. For the first time in many days, she was feeling… safe.
She was still wearing Kevin's shirt, which kept her warm and gave her a sense of comfort even in her sleep. Both of them were wrapped together under the same bedsheet, still close from the night before, as Kevin had stayed beside her to keep her warm and protected.
In that quiet morning light, the fear and pain of the past night felt distant, almost like a memory fading away. For now, there was only silence, warmth, and a feeling of safety she hadn't felt in a long time.
She shifted slightly… and that's when she realized—
She was in Kevin's arms.
Her head was resting against his chest…
and Kevin's hand was still placed around her back… as if he had held her close the entire night.
For a moment… Sara froze.
She slowly opened her eyes…
And then…
Everything came rushing back.
Last night…
her breakdown…
Kevin holding her…
and then…
That moment.
That kiss.
That closeness.
Her heartbeat instantly quickened.
She tried to gently move away from him…
but the warmth of his arms made her pause for a second.
It felt… safe.
Comforting.
But along with that comfort came something else—
Guilt.
Sara closed her eyes tightly.
"What have I done…"
Her own thoughts started judging her.
"How could I do this with Kevin…"
Carefully, she slipped out of his arms…
making sure not to wake him.
She sat upright, her hands trembling slightly.
Then she looked at him.
Kevin was still asleep… peaceful… calm…
as if everything that happened last night had given him quiet comfort.
And that thought broke her even more.
"He was trying to protect me… and I…"
Tears filled her eyes again.
She covered her face with her hands.
"How could I be so selfish…"
It felt like she had used him…
just to ease her own pain.
She adjusted her clothes ,and gently took off Kevin's shirt and kept it carefully beside him and fixed her hair…
but nothing could fix what she was feeling inside.
She turned her face toward the window…
Morning had arrived…
people somewhere must be going on with their normal lives…
And here…
her life had become even more complicated.
She looked at Kevin again.
Slowly, she leaned a little closer…
observing his face.
There were faint signs of tiredness under his eyes…
as if he had stayed awake, taking care of her.
A tear slipped down Sara's cheek.
She carefully covered Kevin with the bedsheet as well. Then, leaning closer, she gently placed a soft kiss on his forehead.
She whispered softly,
"I'm sorry…"
Her voice was so faint… it almost disappeared in the silence.
For a moment, she moved her hand closer to his…
as if she wanted to feel that connection again…
But then…
She pulled her hand back.
"No… I have to end this here…"
She made her decision.
She couldn't hurt Kevin any more.
And she couldn't stay trapped in this confusion either.
Sara took out a small piece of paper from her bag…
and began to write.
Her hands were still slightly shaking…
but every word came straight from her heart.
She folded the paper…
and placed it beside him.
One last time…
she looked at Kevin.
There was pain in her eyes…
but also a strange sense of peace.
As if she knew…
she was leaving him behind…
but a part of her would always stay with him.
Sara slowly opened the car door…
and stepped out quietly.
The morning light fell on her face…
but inside, everything still felt dark. Kevin slowly opened his eyes.
For a second, everything felt warm and peaceful to him… as if Sara was still in his arms, as if nothing had changed. A faint smile appeared on his face, and there was a strange sense of comfort in his expression — the kind of comfort that comes after holding someone you truly care about.
But then…
Reality hit.
He looked around.
"Sara…?" he called softly.
There was no response.
His heartbeat suddenly increased.
He quickly sat up, looking around the car.
"Sara… Sara!" this time his voice was louder.
But she was not there.
Panic rushed through him.
He immediately stepped out of the car, looking around desperately, calling her name again and again—
"Sara! Sara!"
But there was no sign of her.
His eyes were filled with fear now.
That's when his gaze fell on a folded piece of paper lying beside the seat.
A letter.
His hands trembled slightly as he picked it up.
He opened it… and began to read.
"I'm so sorry, Kevin.
I misused your kindness… and your friendship.
You gave me comfort, care, and support when I needed it the most… but I… I only used you to hide my pain and to feel better.
I have fallen in my own eyes.
I don't think I will ever be able to face you again.
You are such a kind and pure person… and I don't deserve someone like you.
That's why I'm going far away… far from you.
Today, I lost a true friend.
I'm really sorry, Kevin.
If possible… please forgive me."
As Kevin finished reading…
Tears filled his eyes.
His grip on the letter tightened.
"No… Sara… you misunderstood everything…" he whispered, his voice breaking.
He placed his hand on his chest, trying to control his emotions.
"That night… it wasn't a mistake for me…"
His voice trembled.
"How do I tell you… how special that moment was for me…"
He closed his eyes tightly, pain clearly visible on his face.
"No… Sara… I can't lose you…"
His voice turned firm.
"I have already lost Sofia… I can't lose you too…"
There was a pause.
Then, in a whisper filled with truth—
"Because… I love you."
Suddenly, a thought struck him.
"What if she went back to Ryan…?"
Without wasting a second, Kevin rushed toward his car and drove straight to Ryan's house.
He reached there and immediately started shouting—
"Sara! Sara!"
Hearing the noise, Ryan came out aggressively.
Before Kevin could say anything, Ryan grabbed his collar.
"What do you want now?" Ryan shouted angrily.
"First you took Sara away from me… and now what else do you want?"
Kevin's eyes filled with anger.
"Your Sara?" he snapped.
"If you had ever truly considered her yours… if you had shown even a little love and care… she would still be with you today!"
Ryan's grip tightened.
Kevin continued, his voice sharp—
"But what did you do? You took advantage of her love… her trust… her innocence…"
Then he looked at Alice.
"And you hurt her… betrayed her… with someone else."
Ryan lost control and raised his hand to hit Kevin—
But Kevin immediately caught his hand mid-air.
"Don't even think about it," Kevin said coldly.
"I know how to raise my hand too… so think twice before you try again."
He pushed Ryan's hand away firmly.
"I'm not here to fight," Kevin continued.
"I'm here to find Sara. She's missing."
Hearing this…
Ryan froze.
"What do you mean… she's missing?" he asked, trying to sound confident, but fear was visible in his eyes.
"You were the one who took her," he added sharply.
"And now you're asking me where she is?"
Before Kevin could reply, Emma stepped forward.
"Seriously, Ryan?" she said, disappointed.
"You're still asking these questions?"
Kevin took a deep breath.
"Guys, this is not the time to fight," he said firmly.
"We have to find Sara. We don't know where she is… or what condition she's in."
There was genuine worry in Kevin's eyes — something Emma noticed very clearly.
At that moment, she began to understand…
Kevin wasn't just concerned.
He was in love with Sara.
Kevin turned to leave.
"I'm going to find her," he said.
"If anyone wants to come, they can."
Emma immediately spoke—
"Wait, Kevin. I'll come with you. I want to help."
Kevin nodded slightly.
"Okay."
From there, Kevin and Emma began searching for Sara everywhere.
Emma told him all the places Sara used to visit—
The canteen…
The church…
The park…
Her old workplace…
They even contacted her old friends.
Kevin searched every place with desperation.
But…
Sara was nowhere to be found.
On the other side…
Ryan was not thinking about Sara.
His mind was filled with anger.
Anger toward Kevin.
Hatred.
Frustration.
He paced around the room, restless.
Then he looked at Alice.
"Everything was going perfectly," he said angrily.
"I had finally found Sara again."
His voice started breaking.
"Yes, she had lost her memory… but she had started trusting me again… she was starting to love me again…"
He clenched his fists.
"And then that Kevin… he ruined everything!"
His eyes filled with tears.
"Yes… that night… I lost control… we both did…"
He paused.
"But I regret it… I truly regret it."
He looked at Alice.
"You know it… after that day, I never even touched you again."
His voice softened for a moment.
"I know what I did to Sara… how much I hurt her… how much I made her cry…"
He sat down, holding his head.
"I thought… I would fix everything… I would make her happy… give her everything she deserves…"
His voice turned angry again.
"But Kevin ruined everything!"
In frustration, he picked up a vase from the table and threw it on the floor.
It shattered into pieces.
"I won't let him take Sara away from me again," Ryan said, his eyes filled with obsession.
"I will remove Kevin from my path… no matter what."
He looked up, his voice cold and determined—
"Whether the way is right… or wrong…"
"I will get Sara back."
