NO ONE wanted to touch the button after Davi found the hidden text.
That was sensible.
That was also the trap.
The chamber still shook around the split floor. The eleven-piece had both hands buried in the broken aisle, holding the transit-bore body down while people crawled and ran toward the east stair. The stair stayed open, but the request form had stopped feeding route updates.
SUBMIT REQUEST.
The silver button waited at the bottom of every clean template.
Sant stood over the chamber desk with Mell Ota's name plate in one hand.
"If we do not submit, the east stair closes in forty seconds."
Rina answered from the garage.
"Then do not submit."
"That is not an answer."
"Say it out loud."
Sant looked at the screen as if Rina had asked her to pray over a fire alarm.
Sefa understood first.
"No button," he said. "No tap. No purchase. No hidden seat under a clean word."
The captured Voss remnant laughed from the floor.
Tali's boot moved.
He stopped laughing.
