Chapter 5 - Chapter 4. Keep Moving

Sunny and Sasha looted the bodies without much difficulty.

Sunny managed to find clothing that wasn't fully destroyed, as well as some coins and daggers.

Sasha on the other hand managed to find a map of the kingdom.

"Hey, come here for a second." She shouted over her shoulder.

Sunny was pulling his pants up when he heard her call, he got them on and immediately rushed over.

"Take a look at this." She pointed towards the map. "See anything strange?"

She asked him.

Sunny leaned in and noticed that the map was.....incomplete, like whoever drew it started but got bored before finishing 10 percent of it.

"Yeah, it looks unfinished." He started putting his shirt and cloak on.

"Yup, it appears to me that whoever mapped this, didn't complete his grand plan. Here, notice the dried blood stains on the edges."

She uttered as she pointed towards the blood stains.

"Aren't those just from the fight we just had." Sunny stated as he leaned in to get a better view.

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. You're so very wrong my dear friend. To the untrained eye it does look like that, but if you have the basic understanding of blood like I do."

She stated, pausing a little to pull him down.

"Look, when blood stays in oxygen for an extended period of time, the cells slowly die and darken."

She paused, taking a deep breath before continuing.

"And from the color of this particular splattor, it suggests that the person died roughly a year ago."

She uttered, smiling widely.

"The fact that you know so much about this kind of stuff is really concerning." Sunny told her.

"Knowledge is power, and my mind is the greatest weapon there is." She states proudly.

Sunny sighed deeply as he stood up, he felt a sharp pain in his side.

He felt blood on his fingers .

"Hey, let me see how it is." Sasha told him.

Sunny raised his shirt and Sasha took a look. She noticed that the stab didn't come from the side, but from the back.

"Hold still, and don't move." She started as she heated her finger and pressed it over the wound.

Sunny greeted his teeth in pain but didn't move once.

She closed the wound and wrapped it with some cloth.

"There, that should prevent you from bleeding out at night. You can thank me later or whatever."

Sasha stated as she staggered a little.

Sunny winched and lowered his shirt. "You sure this wont like.... open up or ....." He stated.

But then Sasha fell over and started vomiting, Sunny rushed over to her. He placed his hand on her forehead.

"Damn, you're burning up." He stated as he took his hand off her, steam coming off it.

He pulled her shirt up and saw that her stab wound had started worsening, growing bigger and more inflamed.

"S-sunny...." She uttered towards him.

Sunny leaned in and she grabbed him by the collar tightly, her gaze locked onto his.

"This is all your fault, if y-you hadn't been such a..." she stopped herself before continuing.

"L-listen.... I'm overheating and this body h-hasn't adjusted to everything I'm putting it through." She told him, her nose bleeding slightly.

"S-so i need your help here, i don't wanna die from a stupid infection. P-please, p-promise me that you wont leave me. Promise me..."

She uttered as she passed out, her grip loosening around his collar.

Sunny looked around and saw nothing but destruction.

"Shit." He uttered as Sasha closed in her arms.

Sunny arrived at the shop and packed whatever he could, food, water, cloth, a dual pair and placed them in a backpack, the daggers hug around his pants.

He placed Sasha on his back and covered her with his cloak, preventing her from getting cold and blocking the sun.

He opened the map and noticed a town a few days walk from.

"Okay, I should be there in at least 4 days..... no better make it 2 days."

He muttered to himself and he started walking.

He reached the gates of the town and looked back before continuing on.

"Dont die yet Sasha." She muttered as he began his journey.
