Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Leads on Sneasel

"There it is!"

After filtering through the results, Hisoka found exactly what he was looking for.

Sneasel were cunning, aggressive, and vicious traits common to most Dark types. Since they were social Pokémon that hunted and migrated in groups of fifteen to twenty,

they were effectively the bullies of Mt. Silver. When their numbers were high enough, even the mountain's true overlord, Tyranitar, avoided them.

I have spotted a Sneasel a rare Johto Pokémon in the southern region of Viridian Forest. It appears to be injured. Selling the detailed coordinates for 5,000 Poké Dollars. Serious buyers only, no haggling!

Below the text was a photo. It was blurry and taken in low light, but it clearly showed a black, cat-like Pokémon leaning against a tree trunk, clutching the carcass of a Caterpie...

The post was from early this morning, and it hadn't been sold yet. It was definitely a Sneasel, though Hisoka was skeptical about the injury claim.

Information on the official site was usually reliable, but sellers often exaggerated or "polished" the details to ensure a quick sale.

He clicked buy immediately. Five thousand was a small price to pay to avoid being beaten to the punch by another hunter.

The moment the payment went through, an email arrived containing the precise coordinates in southern Viridian Forest and several reference photos of the surroundings.

Hisoka synced the data to his handheld computer. He planned to leave as soon as Lulu woke up. In the meantime, he prepared his gear. He didn't expect to catch it on his first try; if he could just find it and attach a tracking device, the trip would be a success.

Food, water, antidotes, medicine, a tent... this was a tracking mission that could take several days, so supplies were vital.

Thanks to the world's advanced spatial technology, all this gear fit easily into a single spatial folding backpack that felt weightless.

Hisoka's camouflage spatial backpack was a reinforced model, costing three times as much as a standard one. It was fireproof, cut-resistant, waterproof, and featured a fingerprint lock, an emergency parachute, and an oxygen tank.

The biggest hurdle was Lulu's type. She was a Psychic type, and her primary offensive move was Confusion. Psychic moves were completely ineffective against Dark types like Sneasel. Unless the gap in their power was astronomical, type immunity was an absolute wall, and Lulu hadn't reached that level yet.

Thinking about how to win a fight against a Pokémon that countered his own, Hisoka smiled. He took a locked iron box from a shelf in his warehouse.

He opened it to reveal various silver steel items: 8mm steel balls, slender needles, thick nails, and intimidating spikes.

These were custom-made from cold steel, prized for its hardness and durability. Under Lulu's telekinetic control, these spheres, needles, and spikes became bullets, sniper rounds, and rockets.

He wanted to capture the Sneasel, not kill it, so the steel balls would be his primary weapon. Since her mental energy couldn't touch it, she would use that energy to propel the steel balls from a distance.

He packed a few needles and spikes just in case. He slotted the weapons into his tactical belt, tucked a folding knife into his boot, and finalized his preparations.
