The summons from Sirzechs Lucifer arrived with perfect formality. Grayfia delivered the elegant letter personally, her expression as flawless and unreadable as always. The Maou wished to speak with Issei Hyoudou and Rias Gremory at the main Gremory mansion the following evening. The request was polite, but the underlying curiosity was unmistakable.

The Emperor read the message once in the clubroom, then passed it to Rias. The rest of the peerage had already left for individual training, leaving them alone for a moment.

"He wants to understand how we repelled a Cadre," Rias said quietly, folding the letter. "My brother is impressed, but he is also cautious. We must be very careful with what we reveal."

The Emperor nodded, his expression calm and controlled. "We show strength and loyalty to the Gremory house. We do not mention the Fate Thief System, the full mechanics of our power, or our long-term ambitions. We are a capable peerage that protected its territory. Nothing more."

Rias stepped closer, placing her hand on his arm. "I trust your judgment completely. Whatever you decide, I will support it without hesitation."

He covered her hand with his own, the touch firm and possessive. "You are my queen. Your support is absolute. Tonight we prepare exactly what we will say and what we will keep hidden."

That evening, the full peerage gathered for a strategy briefing. The Emperor addressed them with quiet authority, outlining the approach for the meeting with Sirzechs.

"We present unity and controlled strength," he said. "Sirzechs will ask how we managed to drive back Kokabiel. Our answer will be simple: superior coordination, rigorous training, and the will to protect what belongs to us. We do not volunteer details about fate theft or the system. Any questions about individual abilities will be deflected toward teamwork."

Akeno listened attentively, her loyalty now fully anchored after the battle. "I can speak about the role my lightning played in disrupting their formations. It was visible enough to be believable without revealing too much."

Kiba added, "I will emphasize tactical coordination. It keeps the focus away from any single anomaly."

Asia nodded softly. "I'll stay ready to support if needed, but I hope the meeting remains peaceful."

The Emperor continued, "While we are at the mansion, the rest of you will maintain normal operations. Raynare will continue monitoring fallen angel activity. Ravel, use your contacts to gather any political reactions from the noble houses. We turn this meeting into an opportunity to solidify our position."

Ravel, who had grown increasingly comfortable within the group, spoke up. "Several lower noble houses have already begun whispering about the 'Fate Thief' who stood against a Cadre. I can start planting very subtle seeds of interest if you wish."

The Emperor gave her a measured nod of approval. "Do so carefully. We are not recruiting openly yet. We are becoming the name that others feel compelled to approach."

The meeting concluded with clear assignments. As the others departed, Akeno lingered briefly.

"Issei-kun," she said softly, "after the meeting with Sirzechs… I would like some private time with you. I want to show you exactly how committed I am now."

The Emperor met her eyes, sensing the depth of her loyalty. "After the meeting. You have earned that time."

---

The Gremory mansion gleamed under the evening lights. Grayfia escorted the Emperor and Rias through the grand halls to a private study where Sirzechs Lucifer waited. The Maou sat casually, but his crimson eyes held sharp intelligence.

"Issei, Rias," Sirzechs greeted them with a warm yet probing smile. "Thank you for coming. Please sit."

Once they were seated, Sirzechs leaned forward slightly.

"I will be direct. The reports of Kokabiel's retreat have spread quickly. A Cadre personally attacked Kuoh territory and was forced to withdraw by a relatively new peerage. I need to understand how this was possible."

The Emperor answered with calm, measured confidence. "We prepared thoroughly and fought with unity. Kokabiel underestimated our coordination and determination. We protected what belongs to us — nothing more, nothing less."

Sirzechs studied him carefully for a long moment. "Your growth has been remarkable, Issei Hyoudou. From a newly reincarnated devil to someone capable of standing against a Cadre in such a short time… it is unusual. Rias, you fought at his side. Do you fully trust his leadership?"

Rias answered without hesitation, pride clear in her voice. "I trust him completely. He has proven himself again and again. I stand with him not only as Buchou, but as someone who believes in the future he is building."

Sirzechs smiled faintly, though his eyes remained sharp. "I see. I will not demand every secret today. However, the Underworld is watching. The name 'Fate Thief' is beginning to circulate. Some view it with concern. Others see potential. Continue acting responsibly. The Gremory house will offer support — within reason."

The meeting continued for another hour, touching on political implications, future Rating Games, and the general stability of the region. Sirzechs remained cordial, but it was clear he was carefully assessing the Emperor. He did not push too aggressively, but his final words carried a subtle warning.

"Rapid growth often attracts powerful eyes. Be careful, Issei. Power that rises too quickly can become a target."

As they left the mansion, Rias exhaled in relief. "He is impressed, but he is watching us closely. We handled it well."

The Emperor nodded. "We gave him enough to satisfy curiosity without revealing our true advantages. Now we return and continue building."

---

Back at the clubroom that evening, the peerage waited eagerly for the report. The Emperor summarized the meeting concisely.

"Sirzechs offered conditional support and expressed curiosity, but we revealed nothing critical. We continue consolidation. Training will increase in intensity. Political seeds will be planted carefully. We remain the ones who control the pace."

Akeno approached him after the others began to disperse, her voice low and intimate. "The way you handled the Maou… it was masterful. I'm ready for the private time you promised. I want to show you exactly where my loyalty lies now."

The Emperor looked at her, sensing the complete commitment in her eyes. "Come with me."

They spent the evening together in a deep, reinforcing manner. Akeno opened herself fully, lowering every remaining emotional guard. The Emperor accepted her completely, his dominance calm and absolute. By the end of the night, her place in the empire was no longer approaching — it was secured.

The next morning brought fresh developments. Ravel arrived with important news.

"Two minor noble houses have expressed discreet interest in meeting you," she said. "They want to understand the 'Fate Thief' who forced a Cadre to retreat. They see potential benefit in forming quiet connections."

The Emperor allowed a faint, cold smile. "Arrange the meetings carefully. We do not rush. We let them come to us."

As the day progressed, the Emperor reviewed the system status in private:

**Main Quest: Empire Consolidation — Progress: 24%**

**Level 6 Achieved**

**New opportunities detected: Noble alliances and deeper Church relations.**

He stood on the rooftop as evening fell, Rias and Akeno now both at his side. The peerage trained below with renewed purpose and unity.

"The first major storm has passed," he said quietly. "Kokabiel is weakened. The Church is cautious. The noble houses are beginning to whisper our name. Now we turn those whispers into alliances. The empire grows — one secured loyalty, one strategic connection at a time."

Rias smiled with pride. Akeno leaned closer, her presence fully committed.

The noble whispers had begun.

And the Fate Thief Emperor was ready to transform them into something far greater.
