Chapter 12 - Roaring Flames and the Earth’s Wrath

After the direct threat from Bimal Singh, Han's night was filled with an eerie restlessness. However, the special silver sprout granted by the System swayed with a strange, otherworldly tranquility. As the first light of dawn broke, Han hurried to his field, only to stand frozen in awe. The silver sprout was emitting a faint, crystalline blue aura. It wasn't just a crop anymore; it looked like a silent guardian of his farm.

Around ten in the morning, a dusty black jeep screeched to a halt near the field. Jagdish, Bimal Singh's chief henchman, stepped out with a sinister grin, clutching a canister of gasoline. A few curious villagers gathered at a distance, whispering in hushed, fearful tones.

"Han, we gave you plenty of chances," Jagdish roared, his voice dripping with malice. "But you chose to defy Bimal Babu. Today, I'll turn your magical field into a pile of ash!"

The villagers scrambled back as Jagdish splashed gasoline toward the edge of the patch and struck a match. A fierce tongue of flame raced toward Han's precious crops. Han lunged forward to stop him, but a deep, resonant voice echoed in his mind from the System: [Stay calm, Han. Feel the power of the earth.]

The moment the fire reached the silver sprout, something impossible happened. Instead of burning, the plant released a sudden, freezing mist. As soon as the flames touched the mist, they were instantly extinguished with a loud hiss!

But the field wasn't done yet. From the very spot where the gasoline had spilled, thick, ink-black vines erupted from the soil like striking cobras. They coiled around Jagdish's legs with terrifying speed.

Jagdish screamed in pure terror. He felt the earth itself turning alive, dragging him down. The villagers watched, stunned, as the vines whipped Jagdish and tossed him out of the field like a piece of trash. Trembling and half-dead with fear, he and his goons scrambled back into the jeep and sped away.

Han realized then that his 'System Farming' didn't just grow food—it protected its owner. As he knelt to check the soil, his fingers brushed against something hard and metallic buried deep beneath the silver sprout. It shimmered with an ancient glow. Was this the key to a forgotten mystery?
