"I don't care about his things," Holly Sinclair said, frowning slightly.
"This isn't about whether you care or not. This is what you and Candice deserve!" Wendy Wyatt declared self-righteously.
'Refusing free money? Something's wrong with her head!'
Wendy just couldn't understand.
"I haven't had anything to do with him for a long time. There's no such thing as 'deserving' anything from him."
"How could you not deserve it? He wronged you so much back then, and Candice is his only child. His inheritance... ah, no, his as-assets. Who else would he give his assets to if not you two?"
Wendy was in such a rush that she had a slip of the tongue. Realizing her mistake, she quickly corrected herself, all while cautiously glancing at her best friend's expression.
Even though Holly kept saying she would never forgive Tristan Sterling, he was still Candice's biological father. Wendy knew that deep down, her friend wouldn't want to hear any words that sounded like a curse against him.
