There were more envoys and officials from Draconia and Sixphen Lady Effer had brought in, and in a matter of days, she was going to have to leave again to bring the beast kin, fae, and other races from the other nations.
Everyone was still on edge, but their nerves had settled.

Low murmurs settled over the chamber as the nobles and officials filed out, with some lingering in small groups to discuss.
Lady Effer looked exhausted. The weariness had carved deep lines into her face, and her movements had lost their usual sharpness. Using her ability should usually not strain her this much, but the barrier oddly made it far more difficult, requiring such immense essence to carry out one of her most measly abilities.
