Tiy looked at Isaac with pure shock.
Your traits are fundamental to who you are. If someone was suffering from mental problems, they would gain a trait that described it inside their system. So if you asked someone to tell you their traits, it is the same as asking someone to tell you their secrets.
Tiy turned away from Isaac and spoke in a displeased tone.
"I thought you were better than that, Isaac. Maybe you don't know this, but asking someone about their traits is rude on another level, and-"
Isaac rolled his eyes and cut Tiy off.
"My first trait is called Unoriginal, and it's described as-"
Tiy ran over and covered Isaac's mouth.
"What part of rude do you not understand. I don't care about your traits, so don't care about mine. I know we are working together, but that doesn't mean we should know everything about each other."
Isaac pulled her hand off his mouth and replied in an even tone.
"I mean, I know that, but my traits are too confusing, and it would really help if I got someone to help me. And well, if I need your help with my traits, then I should know yours."
Tiy pulled her hand away.
"But what if I have no reason to help you, as long as you do your job, and help me, I see no reason to help you understand your traits."
As Tiy turned to leave, Isaac's voice echoed.
"But what if I had a trait that would let me learn anything I want, regardless of restrictions?"
Tiy turned around, clearly annoyed, and shouted.
"Then why don't you just learn a way to head back to earth, and just leave me to fight the elders on my own!"
Isaac took a few steps back so that he would have enough time to react in case she did anything. Isaac had been thinking for over a month, wondering if he should have told Tiy about his traits, but since things were moving faster than he expected, he had decided to bite the bullet and tell her, but things were not going in a positive direction.
He didn't understand his trait 'Unoriginal', but he gathered a few things about it. The main part was that as long as it could be taught, then he could learn it, the best example was support magic vs curse magic.
Both required abilities in order to use them, but support magic had to be learned, while curse magic would be known to you the second you learned magic. Isaac had a feeling that if someone was able to teach curse magic, then he would be able to use it, but that was impossible.
Isaac stopped his train of thought and replied to Tiy.
"Because I can only learn things that other people can learn. It's the reason why I can use support magic without a trait, but am not able to use curse magic."
Tiy was about to snap back at him, but grew silent, and only a disgruntled sound fell out of her mouth. What Isaac had explained made a little bit of sense since support magic could be learned, while curse magic couldn't, but it still didn't make any sense as to why Isaac had not tried to learn powers like her or Exo's tracking power.
Isaac took advantage of the moment of silence to speak.
"Look, Tiy, I don't know what my trait means. I have tried to learn that flame wall you used on the bear, but no matter how much I try, I can't seem to make it any bigger than a few feet wall."
Tiy waved her hand, and a flame wall erupted from the ground.
"It's because I used a stronger word for fire. The word I used refers to the first fire the rooters ever made."
Isaac stepped slightly closer. As he did, he felt an unyielding heat that could burn down a building with a small spark.
"Tiy, I am not going to force you to tell me your traits, but I at least want you to help me understand mine."
Even though Tiy had a faint interest in the trait that Isaac had mentioned, she still refused to change her decision. It wasn't until the sun rose above the horizon that Tiy relented a little under Isaac's constant attempts to convince her.
"Fine then! I will help you with ONE trait, but I don't want to hear anything about another trait."
Isaac quickly nodded his head before she could change her mind. He then sat under a tree and patted the spot next to him. Tiy joined him under the tree since they had been arguing about the traits for over four hours without any rest.
Isaac handed her a pouch full of berries similar to the ones she gave him. Isaac let her eat before he began to explain his trait.
"The trait is called 'Unoriginal', and it's my first trait. The description that the system gives it is 'You can only learn things that others have before you.'"
Tiy wiped her mouth as Isaac hadn't given her time to swallow the last of her food.
"And how do you feel about the trait. All traits are part of you, so you should be able to feel parts of it. For example, I am able to learn curses just by having the trait since I can feel how to cast them."
Isaac shook his head.
"I can't say that I feel anything. It doesn't seem to give me knowledge like your curse magic or a passive effect like your tracking trait. It just kind of feels normal."
The two of them talked about what the trait could mean, but they could only come up with vague theories about what it could do.
The first theory they thought of was that racial traits like 'Human' and 'Rooter' were similar to 'Unoriginal' in the fact that they only worked once someone was transported to another world.
The second theory they thought was that his learning speed might be faster if someone taught Isaac while he was learning. The only grounds for this theory were how fast he learnt magic while reading, but having a sluggish pace when making his own.
And the last theory was that power, like magic, and its sub traits like support magic all fall under 'Unoriginal', so as long as Isaac had 'Unoriginal,' he could learn things that others would need traits for.
By the time they finished talking, the sun was already above them. Tiy had stood up, getting ready to leave after Isaac did a few spells to make sure she was healed, as well as making her a circle on a piece of paper similar to the one she made, but with the effect of healing people with the title 'The Hollow Dame' since targeted magic was always better than area of effect.
After Tiy left Isaac, he went to the spot where he had planted the seed that came from his trait 'Origin'. He watered the ground and sat next to it, crossed legged and closed his eyes.
He entered a space completely dark, and lacked even the atoms that make up everything around him, this was his true world.
