Chapter 25 - Unoriginal

The space around Isaac began to twist and turn, as the true world began to expand to around one meter in size in all dimensions. As it did so, his trait 'origin' began to activate, and as it did, his mind was filled with knowledge of what a true world is.

A true world is a space made up of your main trait. For Isaac, this was 'Unoriginal' everything inside his true world would be under Isaac's control. For a wanderer to become stronger, they must grow their true world by building a universe within themselves.

As of now, Isaac's true world was barely even one millionth, which is so small that not even the system designed to show someone who they are could notice it.

True worlds had many uses, but a lot of them are locked behind progression, so until Isaac grew his true world, he would be limited to very simple things, the main one being able to store objects inside your true world.

Isaac left the spiritual view of his true world and returned to his body that sat listening to music. He stood up and stretched, which let out a myriad of cracks from his body.

He picked up his bags and tried to drag them into his true world, which surprisingly was easy for him. All it took for him to do so was to recreate the pull from before, and then it dragged the bags into Isaac's body and entered his true world.

Isaac could feel the bags and everything inside them in his true world. It felt like something he couldn't forget because he repeated it nonstop until he couldn't unhear it. If Isaac willed for it, then he could bring anything out from his true world without needing to bring the whole bag.

Isaac walked over to the mound where the seed of his origin sat, and then he placed his tie attached to a stick on the mound to make a flag, and then walked over to the trees.

Isaac had grown bored of living in a cave, so he planned to begin making his own house in the forest, specifically right next to his origin, which was also where he first came to this place.

Isaac didn't know the first thing about making a house, after all, his first place was a couple of sticks leaned against a tree, so this time, Isaac wanted to make a home that could handle the weather, as well as any animals that may come to kill him.

But that would have to come a lot later, as for right now, Isaac made a stick hut just like his first one. Engraved on the trunk of the tree that the hut was leaning against was a magic circle that heals people near it, this was to allow Isaac to recover at a fast rate while sleeping.

He had plans for more circles in this place, those would have to wait since making circles takes time, and rushed ones would lose effectiveness very fast, just like the one in the cave that was used on Tiy.

It only took Isaac a few days before his first problem arrived. His food supplies were all emptied, and the berries were all gone, and it would take at least a month before they could regrow, so Isaac had to come up with a new way of getting food.

Lucky for Isaac, such a way would fall into his lap. As Isaac slept, a hulking beast walked past while scratching at trees. It was a crescent bear. As the bear walked past, it woke Isaac, who remained still so as not to alert the bear.

Isaac slowly moved his head and saw the bear, which had small burn marks on its skin that were made obvious by the patches of shorter hair. Isaac's eyes widen as he notices under the moonlight.

'No way, that's the same crescent bear from before. No way I'm letting it get away again. It looks like there is still another hour until the sun will rise, so I just have to keep track of it for now.'

The bear stopped moving and laid down in the grass for half an hour before getting back up, Isaac remained as still as a tree so as not to alert it to where he was. Tiy had told Isaac before that the bear that attacked them was most likely a cub, but that didn't make this any easier, as the bear was still a few meters big under the moon.

The bear began to walk away, before walking over to where Isaac was sitting a few hours ago, while containing his true world. The bear seemed to be on alert as it recognised the smell from before, as it had not smelt anything that appetising before.

It stood on guard until the sun rose, which, when it began to move towards the mountains to the west, but right as it turned, Isaac threw a knife towards the bear while using wind magic like the windbless hunter that he fought.

Unlike the hunter, Isaac was not skilled at doing this, so the knife missed the bear and just landed in the ground in front of it. The bear turned its enormous body around. At the same time, the sun peaked over the trees and landed on the bear as it began to shrink to around three feet long and around two feet wide.

Isaac pulled the second knife that he had gotten from the hunter out of his true world and held it out straight. The bear sniffed the knife in the ground and began walking slowly towards Isaac, while getting ready to speed up and maul him.

Isaac, meanwhile, was going through a list of words that would be helpful in this fight. The main ones that stuck out were 'accurate' and 'Arrow of flame'. By using both, he could make an arrow made of fire that could hit its target most of the time.

But a few side effects would arise if he did, since the fire could burn him as well, and he would need some time to recover after the fight. So Isaac decided not to go with fire, but with wind, since it would be harder to dodge and would be less intensive than making fire.

After casting both spells, a wave of nausea swooped over Isaac since he was used to the boosted effects of the berries, and was suffering withdrawals from them. Isaac fired the arrow, but since neither of them could see it, the arrow ended up making a hole in the ground next to the bear.

Isaac took a step back and began casting again, but was quickly stopped as the bear ran forward, clearly intent on crashing into Isaac. Isaac blurted out only the word "arrow," causing an arrow made of stone to be formed and landed right in front of both of them.

Isaac began to run away from the bear as it gave chase. Isaac chantlessly cast 'float' and 'boost', he then jumped into the air as the bear went between his legs and quickly slowed down.

Isaac ran over to the knife in the ground and brought it back into his true world. The bear and Isaac returned to looking at each other as both got ready for another attack.

The bear ran in as Isaac jumped and threw a knife into the back of the bear, and shouted "heavy," which made the knife piece straight into the back of the bear, and deeply enter it.

Since the heavy was used on a weapon, and weapons could be considered better if they weighed more, it would count as support magic and allowed Isaac to cast it offensively.

As Isaac landed, the bear got up and turned to him. It was clear that both of them wanted this to be done with, so with one big push, Bear charged at him. Isaac got ready to do the same trick again, but his mind went blank, as an indescribable pain shrieked through his body.

The bear seemed to use all its strength to run right at him and bite down on Isaac's leg, crumbling the bone to pieces. Isaac's eyes rolled back in his head, as the pain was so gut wrenching that it would be less painful just to die now, but Isaac couldn't let that happen.

Isaac quickly grabbed the bear and pushed it down, by doing the same trick as the knife, but on himself, he then struck down with the knife right into the neck of the bear. He knew that a weak spot was on the neck, but not where it was, so he began stabbing and slashing at the neck of the bear, and the grip on his leg was lighter.

He didn't stop there, he kept going until he had detached the head from the body. Only then did he crawl over to his hut, where the circle began to heal him, but not fast enough.
