Chapter 16 - Chapter -16

Journey to the Frozen Mountains

After hearing the stranger's warning about the ancient power, the king could not rest peacefully. His mind was filled with questions. What was this mysterious force? Why was it awakening now? And how could it threaten the peaceful kingdoms?

The stranger stayed at the palace for a few days and shared more details. He explained that far beyond the northern forests stood the Frozen Mountains, a place covered in snow and ice throughout the year. According to ancient legends, a powerful energy had been sealed deep inside those mountains long ago to protect the world from harm.

One evening, the king gathered his council in the grand hall. The two queens, the prince, and the royal advisers sat around a large wooden table. Maps of distant lands were spread before them.

"We cannot ignore this warning," the king said firmly.

"If this ancient power becomes dangerous, many lives could be at risk. We must learn the truth and prepare to protect our people."

The elder queen nodded wisely.

"Knowledge is the strongest weapon," she said.

"Send a team to investigate before the danger grows."

The prince stepped forward with determination shining in his eyes.

"Father, allow me to join the journey. I want to help protect our kingdom."

The king looked at his son proudly. He saw courage and responsibility growing in the young prince's heart. After a moment of thought, he agreed.

"Very well," the king replied.

"You will come with us and learn what it truly means to lead."

Preparations for the journey began immediately. Strong horses were chosen, warm clothes were packed, and supplies were gathered for the long trip. Skilled climbers and experienced guides joined the expedition. The mysterious stranger also volunteered to lead the way, as he knew the path to the Frozen Mountains.

At dawn the next day, the group set out from the palace. The people of the kingdom gathered along the road to wave goodbye and wish them safety. The prince felt both excited and nervous as he rode beside his father.

The journey was long and challenging. They traveled through thick forests where sunlight barely reached the ground. They crossed wide rivers using wooden bridges and climbed rocky hills that tested their strength.

After many days, the air began to grow colder. Snow covered the ground, and icy winds blew across the land. In the distance, tall white peaks rose into the sky like giant towers of ice.

"Those are the Frozen Mountains," the stranger said, pointing ahead.

The group continued climbing higher and higher until they reached a narrow mountain pass. Suddenly, a loud cracking sound echoed through the valley. A small avalanche of snow slid down the slope, blocking part of the path.

The soldiers quickly moved to clear the snow, working together carefully. The prince helped carry smaller pieces of ice, showing courage and teamwork.

Finally, after hours of effort, they reached the entrance of a dark cave hidden between two tall cliffs. Cold air flowed out from the cave, and a faint blue light flickered deep inside.

The stranger spoke in a serious voice,

"This is the place where the ancient power was sealed long ago."

The king took a deep breath and stepped forward. He held his torch high, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

Inside the cave, the walls were covered with shining crystals that reflected the torchlight like tiny stars. The deeper they walked, the stronger the blue glow became.

At the center of the cave, they discovered a large frozen stone surrounded by glowing symbols. The air felt heavy and mysterious, as if the mountain itself were alive.

Suddenly, the ground trembled slightly, and a low rumbling sound filled the cave. The prince looked at his father with concern.

"Is the power awakening?" he asked softly.

The king placed a steady hand on his shoulder and replied calmly,

"Perhaps. But we will face it together, with courage and wisdom."

The glowing symbols around the frozen stone began to shine brighter, lighting up the entire cave. The adventure had reached a dangerous turning point, and the fate of many lands might depend on what they did next. ❄️✨
