Chapter 10 - Chapter -10

The Mystery of the Golden River

Peace returned to the kingdom after the bandits were reformed and the villages became safe again. The people praised their king for his wisdom and kindness. Festivals were held in every town, and music filled the air. The kingdom seemed stronger than ever before.

One warm afternoon, while the king was sitting in the royal garden with the two queens, a group of travelers arrived at the palace. They carried strange-looking stones that shimmered like gold under the sunlight. The guards quickly informed the king about their arrival.

Curious about the unusual stones, the king invited the travelers into the royal court. The leader of the group stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

"Your Majesty," he began, "we come from the far northern mountains. While crossing a forest, we discovered a river that shines like gold. Its water sparkles in the sunlight, and the ground around it is filled with these glowing stones."

The king examined the stones carefully. They were smooth, bright, and heavier than ordinary rocks. The court members whispered among themselves, wondering if the stones were truly valuable.

The younger queen spoke softly,

"If this river is real, it could bring great prosperity to our kingdom. But we must also be careful. Sometimes great treasures bring unexpected danger."

The king nodded thoughtfully. He knew that wealth could help the kingdom grow, but it could also attract greedy people from distant lands. He decided to investigate the matter personally.

The next morning, the king prepared for a journey to the northern mountains. He selected a small group of trusted soldiers, wise advisers, and skilled explorers. The elder queen handed him a small silver pendant for protection and said,

"Return safely, and remember that wisdom is your greatest strength."

With determination in his heart, the king and his team set out on their journey. They traveled through dense forests, crossed wide rivers, and climbed rocky hills. Along the way, they met villagers who spoke of the mysterious golden river. Some believed it was a blessing from nature, while others feared it was guarded by unknown forces.

After several days of travel, the group finally reached the northern mountains. The air was cool, and the sound of rushing water echoed through the valley. Following the sound, they walked deeper into the forest until they saw something truly astonishing.

Before them flowed a beautiful river whose water shimmered like liquid gold under the sunlight. Tiny golden particles sparkled on the surface, creating a magical glow. The king and his companions stood silently, amazed by the sight.

One of the explorers carefully collected a small amount of water and examined it.

"Your Majesty," he said, "this river contains rare minerals that reflect light. It is not ordinary water."

The king realized that this discovery could bring both opportunity and responsibility. If the minerals were used wisely, they could improve the kingdom's economy and help build schools, hospitals, and roads. But if people became greedy, it could lead to conflict and destruction.

While the group was discussing their plans, a sudden rumbling sound echoed through the mountains. The ground began to shake gently, and birds flew into the sky in alarm. From behind a large rock formation, an old hermit slowly appeared.

The hermit had a long white beard and carried a wooden staff. His eyes were calm and wise. He looked at the king and spoke in a deep voice,

"This river is a gift of nature, but it must be protected. If people take too much from it without care, the river will lose its magic, and the land will suffer."

The king listened respectfully. He understood the importance of balance between nature and human needs.

"Wise elder," the king replied, "I promise to protect this river and use its resources responsibly. My people will respect nature and preserve its beauty."

The hermit smiled gently and nodded in approval. Then, as quietly as he had appeared, he walked back into the forest and disappeared among the trees.

Inspired by the hermit's warning, the king made an important decision. He ordered his advisers to create strict rules for protecting the river. Only trained workers would be allowed to collect small amounts of minerals, and a large area around the river would remain untouched as a protected forest.

When the king returned to the palace, he shared the story with the people of the kingdom. They admired his wisdom and promised to follow the new rules. Soon, the golden river became a symbol of prosperity and responsibility.

The kingdom continued to grow, not only in wealth but also in knowledge and respect for nature. The people learned that true treasure was not just gold, but the harmony between humans and the world around them.

As the sun set behind the mountains, the king stood on the palace balcony once again. He felt proud of his kingdom and hopeful for the future
