Chapter 22 - Chapter 2: “The Shadow of the First Truth”

Robin left the café a few minutes after Leila had gone, but the atmosphere outside no longer felt the same. The same street, the same lights, even the same air… yet everything felt different. As if something inside him had broken and could no longer return to what it was before.

Karim walked beside him, glancing at him from time to time.

"Are you going to stay silent like this after what happened in the café?"

Robin didn't answer immediately. He was walking slowly, his mind still stuck on the same image… the same face… the same feeling that struck him without warning.

Finally, he said in a low voice:

"It's not a coincidence… I'm sure of it."

Karim raised an eyebrow.

"Sure about what exactly? You saw a girl for five minutes and now you're talking about fate?"

Robin stopped for a moment and stared into the distance.

"She's not just a girl… the feeling she gave me… it's like something from the past calling me back."

Karim sighed.

"You're exaggerating. Maybe it's just a resemblance, nothing more."

But Robin shook his head.

"Resemblance doesn't make your heart beat like that."

A short silence fell between them.

Then Robin continued walking.

"I need to know who she is."

In another part of the city, Leila was walking quickly through narrow streets. Her steps were steady, but her eyes showed a different kind of focus. She wasn't like an ordinary person.

She took out her phone and looked at a black screen before calling a hidden number.

A low voice answered from the other side:

"Did you see him?"

Leila stopped near a wall and said calmly:

"Yes… he saw me."

The voice on the phone paused for a moment, then asked:

"Did you figure out if he remembers?"

Leila looked up slightly toward the sky.

"I'm not sure, but his reaction wasn't normal."

The voice became more serious:

"Stay away from him. We don't want any mistakes."

Leila ended the call without replying, but something in her eyes showed she wasn't comfortable with this situation.

At the same time, Robin arrived at his small apartment. He opened the door and entered, closing it slowly behind him. The silence inside was heavier than outside.

He sat on a chair and placed his hand on his head.

Everything in his mind kept replaying the same moment… Leila entering the café… her first look… and her mysterious smile.

Suddenly, he stood up quickly and opened an old drawer.

He took out an old photo.

The image was faded, but you could still see a girl standing next to a younger version of someone… almost the same smile… the same features.

He whispered:

"Sarah…"

He pressed the photo tightly, then let it go.

"No… it's impossible that she came back with the same face…"

But deep inside, everything told him the opposite.

The next day, Robin returned to the same place where he had seen Leila. The café was open, but this time he didn't go in.

He stood at a distance, watching from outside.

He only wanted to confirm one thing: was it a coincidence or the beginning of something else?

After a few minutes, Leila appeared.

But this time, she wasn't alone.

She was with two men wearing dark clothes, speaking to her in a serious tone. One of them kept looking around, as if making sure no one was watching.

Robin hid behind a nearby corner.

"What are these people?"

He managed to catch part of the conversation from a distance.

The first man said:

"You need to be careful, he's starting to notice."

Leila replied calmly:

"I'm just trying to figure out how much he remembers."

The second man said firmly:

"This is not the time for curiosity. The mission is more important."

Then suddenly, they moved quickly and left in the opposite direction.

Leila stayed alone for a moment, then slowly lifted her head as if she had felt something.

She looked directly toward the place where Robin was hiding.

But she said nothing.

Only a short look… then she walked away.

Robin stepped out slowly from his hiding place, his heart beating faster.

"She knew… she knew I was there."

He sat on a nearby wall, thinking:

"So this is bigger than just resemblance… there's something hidden."

And at that moment, he made one decision:

"I'm going to see her again… and I'm going to find the truth, no matter the cost."
