Chapter 24 - Chapter 4:The first target

Robin didn't even realize when the first shot was fired.

It cracked through the air like lightning splitting the sky, sharp and violent. For a fraction of a second, everything froze—then the world shattered into chaos.

Gunfire erupted from both sides.

The street, quiet just moments ago, turned into a battlefield. The few pedestrians who had been passing by scattered in terror, their screams echoing between the buildings. Glass shattered. Tires screeched. The smell of smoke and burning metal filled the air.

Karim didn't hesitate.

"I'm out! I'm OUT!" he shouted, already backing away before turning and running as fast as he could, disappearing into the nearest alley without looking back.

But Robin… didn't move.

His body refused.

It was as if something invisible had rooted him to the ground.

His eyes locked onto Leila.

She was being pulled back behind one of the black cars, one of the men shielding her while firing precise shots toward the attackers. The other stood slightly ahead, calm, controlled—like he had done this a hundred times before.

And then… there was the man in the long coat.

He didn't take cover.

He didn't rush.

He simply stood there, unmoving amidst the storm of bullets, his coat swaying slightly with the movement of the air, his gaze fixed entirely on Robin.

Cold. Calculated. Certain.

Then he spoke.

"It's time for you to remember."

Robin's breath caught.

"What…?"

But before he could react—

A sudden explosion erupted nearby.

The force slammed into him like a wall. The ground vanished beneath his feet as he was thrown backward, his body hitting the pavement hard. A high-pitched ringing filled his ears, drowning out the chaos.

For a moment… there was nothing.

No sound.

No pain.

Just silence.

Then—

Fragments.

Images.

Not memories… not exactly. But something close.

A child.

A sterile white room.

Bright lights overhead.

Voices—familiar, yet distant.

"Not yet… he mustn't remember. Not yet."

Robin's eyes snapped open.

He gasped sharply, dragging air into his lungs as if he had been drowning.

The world rushed back in.

But… something was wrong.

The street was empty.

Completely empty.

No cars.

No gunfire.

No bodies.

No Leila.

No men.

Nothing.

Only silence… and the faint crackling of something burning in the distance.

Robin pushed himself up slowly, his hands trembling slightly. His heart pounded violently against his chest.

"What… just happened?"

His voice sounded distant—even to himself.

Then he saw it.

Bullet holes embedded in the walls.

Shattered glass scattered across the pavement.

Smoke rising faintly from the far end of the street.

Proof.

It was real.

It had happened.

A sudden sound behind him made him turn sharply.

Karim.

But he didn't look the same.

His face was pale, drained of color. His eyes darted around nervously, as if expecting something—or someone—to appear at any moment.

"Robin… we need to go. NOW."

Robin stepped toward him.

"No. Not until you tell me what you saw. Karim, did you see them? Did you see what happened?!"

Karim shook his head rapidly, almost frantically.

"It doesn't matter! They'll come back—and next time, they won't miss!"

Before Robin could press further—

A soft vibration interrupted them.

Robin froze.

Slowly… he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

The screen was black.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then suddenly—

It lit up.

A message appeared.

Unknown number.

Robin hesitated… then opened it.

"If you're reading this… it means you survived."

His stomach tightened.

Another line appeared.

"But surviving isn't the end. It's the beginning."

Robin's fingers curled slightly around the phone.

A third line followed.

"Trust no one. Not even her."

His breath stopped.

"…her?"

Another message came instantly, almost as if whoever was on the other side had been waiting.

"Go to this address. Before they find you."

A location appeared on the screen.

Far from the city center.

Isolated.

Deliberate.

Karim leaned closer, his voice tense:

"What is that?"

Robin slowly lifted his head.

Something in his eyes had changed.

The confusion was still there—but beneath it… something else had awakened.

Something sharper.

Colder.

"This…" he said quietly, "is the only way I get answers."

Karim took a step back.

"No. No way. I'm not going with you."

Robin didn't argue.

Didn't try to convince him.

This time… he understood.

"Then don't."

And with that—

He turned.

And walked away.

Each step carried him further from the life he knew…

And deeper into something he couldn't yet understand.

Elsewhere…

In a dimly lit room—

Leila sat in a chair, her hands bound behind her back.

The air was heavy. Still.

But her expression…

Wasn't fear.

It was calm.

Almost… expectant.

The door creaked open.

The man in the long coat stepped inside, his presence filling the room instantly.

He studied her for a moment… then spoke.

"It seems he's starting to remember."

Leila smiled faintly.

"You're late."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"…What do you mean?"

She lifted her head, meeting his gaze directly.

"Because the plan…" she said softly, "…is no longer yours."

Silence.

Thick. Suffocating.

Miles away…

Robin arrived at the location.

An old building stood before him.

Abandoned.

Decaying.

Its windows were dark, lifeless. The door hung slightly open, as if inviting him inside… or warning him to stay away.

Robin stopped.

Something stirred inside him.

A strange feeling.

Familiar.

Like a place he had been to before…

But couldn't remember.

Slowly—

He raised his hand.

And pushed the door.

It creaked open with a long, hollow sound.

Darkness waited inside.

And this time—

Robin stepped into it.

lovers

First of all… thank you for making it this far.

If you're reading this, it means you've stepped deeper into Robin's world—and from this point on, nothing will be as simple as it once seemed.

This chapter marks a turning point. What began as a strange encounter is now something far more complex, far more dangerous. The line between coincidence and truth has started to blur, and Robin is no longer just an observer… he is part of the mystery itself.

You might have noticed that not everything was explained—and that's intentional.

Some questions are meant to stay unanswered… for now.

Who is Leila, really?

Why does she seem to know Robin better than he knows himself?

And more importantly… what is this past that everyone keeps referring to?

These are not just questions for Robin.

They are questions for you as well.

As the story moves forward, you will begin to see fragments—small pieces of a much larger puzzle. Some will feel familiar. Some will feel unsettling. And some… may change the way you see everything that has happened so far.

Pay close attention to the details.

The words characters choose.

The moments of silence.

The things that don't happen as much as the things that do.

Because in this story… nothing is random.

Not the meeting.

Not the message.

Not even the chaos.

Every moment carries weight, even if it doesn't seem like it at first.

Robin believes he is searching for answers.

But what if the answers have been following him all along?

What if the truth isn't something he will find…

…but something he will remember?

From here on, the pace will shift.

The world will expand.

And the danger… will become real.

New faces will appear—some will help, others will deceive.

Alliances will be tested.

Trust will become fragile.

And one simple rule will remain:

Trust no one.

Not strangers.

Not allies.

Not even the ones who seem to understand you the most.

Because sometimes… the most dangerous person is the one who already knows your past.

As for Leila…

This is only the beginning of her role in the story.

You've seen her calm.

You've seen her mysterious.

But you haven't seen her true side yet.

And when you do…

Everything will change.

Before you move on to the next chapter, take a moment and ask yourself:

If you were in Robin's place…

Would you keep searching for the truth?

Or would you choose to walk away… before it's too late?

Because once you step into this world—

There is no turning back.

Thank you again for reading, and for being part of this journey.

The next chapter will take you even deeper… into the unknown.
