The city that night felt strangely silent, as if it were holding its breath and refusing to disturb anyone. The streets were almost empty, with only the yellow glow of streetlights reflecting on the wet ground from a light rain that had fallen a few hours earlier. Everything looked normal on the surface, but the overall feeling was like something suspended between life and stillness.
Robin was walking alone on a long road with no clear destination. His steps were slow but steady, and his hands were inside the pockets of his black coat. He wasn't looking at people, and he wasn't even listening to the faint noise around him. It was as if he didn't fully belong to the world at that moment.
Inside his mind, only one thought kept repeating itself:
"Every time I try to start over… the past always finds me."
He didn't know why he was walking or where he was going, but the only thing he felt was that peace never lasted long. After it came another phase that pulled him back into the same cycle.
He stopped for a moment in front of a closed shop window. The glass reflected his face. He saw an ordinary young man, but his eyes were not ordinary. They carried an old exhaustion, as if he had seen too much in life and could no longer separate memories from reality.
He sighed softly and continued walking without direction.
A few minutes later, a small café on a quiet corner caught his attention. The light coming from it was warm compared to the cold street. He paused for a moment, then entered without thinking.
The sound of the door opening was soft. Only a few people were inside. The smell of coffee made the atmosphere warmer, and the soft background music gave the place a calm, almost comforting feeling.
Robin sat in a corner near the window. He ordered only a coffee. He didn't need anything else, nor did he have the desire to think too much.
But from the moment he sat down, a strange feeling began to creep into him for no reason.
He looked up randomly, and at that exact moment, everything inside him froze.
There was a girl sitting near the window. She wasn't doing anything special—just reading something in a small notebook—but something about her appearance made Robin freeze in place.
Her hair was long and smooth, her features calm yet strong at the same time, and her gaze… carried something painfully familiar.
He didn't blink even once. His heart started beating in a way he couldn't understand. It wasn't simple attraction, but rather as if an old memory had suddenly been unlocked.
Suddenly, an old image flashed in his mind: distant laughter, a peaceful moment from the past, and a name that once existed deep in his forgotten memories.
Sarah.
He whispered softly:
"Impossible…"
He took a step forward without realizing it, then stopped. He tried to convince himself it was only resemblance, but the more he looked, the stronger the feeling became.
The girl suddenly raised her eyes, and their gazes met. Only two seconds—but it felt like a long time had passed between them.
A faint smile appeared on her face, simple but strangely unsettling. Then she returned to her notebook as if nothing had happened.
Robin slowly sat down, but his mind was no longer present. The coffee arrived in front of him, but he didn't even touch it.
Minutes passed while he remained silent, only watching her from a distance. Every movement she made seemed to replay something buried inside him.
Suddenly, a young man entered the café, speaking loudly and laughing:
"Robin! Where did you disappear? I've been looking for you!"
It was Karim, his only real friend, who always entered his life with noise and energy.
But the moment he noticed the atmosphere, he felt something was off. He sat next to him and said:
"Are you looking at someone like she's a ghost?"
Robin didn't answer immediately. He stayed silent, then said in a low voice:
"She's not a ghost… but something from the past has returned in a different form."
Karim laughed:
"Does your past have new versions too?"
But Robin didn't laugh.
His eyes were still fixed on the girl.
Karim sighed and asked:
"Are you okay?"
Robin replied quietly:
"This girl… she looks like someone who meant a lot to me in the past."
Karim raised his eyebrows:
"So your past is that dangerous?"
But before he could continue, the girl suddenly stood up.
She grabbed her bag, collected her things, and prepared to leave.
The atmosphere shifted instantly. Robin felt like something was about to disappear again.
She stopped near the door, then turned her head slightly toward him.
She said calmly:
"If you really knew someone who looks like me… then maybe it's not just a coincidence."
She paused for a moment… then left.
The door closed, and the café fell into heavy silence.
Karim said:
"This girl is really strange…"
But Robin wasn't listening anymore. His eyes stayed fixed on the door.
Then he whispered very softly:
"She didn't enter my life by coincidence… this is only the beginning of something I had forgotten."
And he fell silent.
Inside him, the first feeling of danger began to grow… like an old story starting again, but in a much more dangerous way.
