"Yo, you saw her true face. So, how was it? Is she pretty?"
When Melanie arrived at Leticia's home carrying the'See-Through' glasses wrapped in a tissue, Miss Demon King was lounging on the sofa, looking decadent while watching TV.
A plate of sliced apples sat in front of her, along with some snacks; this life was truly delightful.
Seeing Melanie, Leticia waved at her and casually asked the question from before.
"What fruit does Malanie like to eat?" Luna, who had opened the door for Melanie, stood to the side with her head lowered, asking respectfully.
Melanie shook her head. "No need, I won't be staying long."
Luca was still with Yori, and Melanie was still a bit uneasy about Leticia's younger sister.
"Luna, don't worry about her. If this person wants something, she'll definitely say it herself. She doesn't have the concept of being polite in her head," Leticia told Luna.
Melanie simply didn't understand social etiquette; in her world, things like declining offers didn't exist.
You can just take her words at face value; this person doesn't have any hidden meanings.
"I saw her. She looks about the same as her disguised form, just with a few details changed." Melanie sat down next to Leticia and returned the lenses to her. "You need to improve this thing; it's uncomfortable to wear."
"If it's uncomfortable, don't use it. If you use it, stop complaining," Leticia retorted unceremoniously. She was letting her borrow the item, yet she was still here nitpicking. Could she have some shame?
Anyway, Leticia didn't need this thing herself. How it felt for others to use? That was none of her business.
What Melanie wanted to say was blocked right back by Leticia's remark. After a long while, the silver-haired girl said to the TV, "You actually like watching this?"
The television was playing the news. In Melanie's impression, Leticia didn't seem like the type of person who enjoyed watching TV.
She should be playing games whenever she had time, right? Watching the news—wasn't that a habit for Luna or elderly people?
"This is called caring about world events, so I don't remain oblivious when disaster strikes." Leticia pouted. She definitely didn't want to work, but that didn't mean she wanted to be cut off from the world.
If she really wanted to be cut off from the world, why wouldn't she just run off to some remote mountain valley in the Demon Realm?
Coming to the most prosperous Central City, wasn't that just proof that she still wanted to enjoy life?
"By the way, do you know that demon?" Leticia asked about Luca.
She was very concerned about all news regarding demons because it deeply affected whether her peaceful life could continue.
If Luca was a high-ranking demon, then Leticia would have to consider running away again.
After all, she was Yori's good friend, so surely that girl Yori would want her good friends to meet each other. If they met and the person suddenly shouted "Your Majesty," wouldn't that be awkward?
Leticia couldn't exactly silence the person, and she couldn't use disguise magic either. That curious young girl Yori would definitely ask, "Quinn, why do you look different than before?"
That wouldn't be easy to explain.
As for whether she could make that demon keep the secret from other demons, Leticia didn't dare to gamble on that.
Who knew how much support Kira had gained among the demons in the years she had been gone? It was possible that Kira had even more prestige now than she had before.
"I don't know her," Melanie said, lying with a cold face.
She knew she wasn't good at lying, so she had to minimize her facial expressions and words as much as possible to avoid revealing any flaws.
"How many demons do you know?"
"Two." Melanie held up two fingers. "You, and your sister."
"Ah, this..." Leticia suddenly felt like an idiot.
Melanie only knew two demons, and one of them was right here. That Luca couldn't possibly be Kira, right?
Then Melanie certainly didn't know that demon.
"Among the demons, the only ones necessary to enter my field of vision are you two sisters." Melanie slowly recovered from her lying state; she had now returned to her original demeanor.
Although, in Leticia's view, her state hadn't changed much anyway.
"You could at least give some face to the Four Heavenly Kings I carefully selected."
"The Four Heavenly Kings... too weak, no presence." Melanie indicated that the Four Heavenly Kings were just small fry and not worth her attention.
Before Leticia was defeated by her, basically everyone only knew Leticia as the Demon King; after Leticia became decadent, the Four Heavenly Kings didn't have much presence either, essentially just acting as Kira's lackeys.
Truly, they had no prestige at all.
However, Leticia might have to take the blame for this herself. During her time as the Demon King, she was indeed a bit too ruthless and cold-blooded; the Four Heavenly Kings were nothing more than playthings in her hands that she could use as she pleased.
It was indeed normal that their presence was lacking; who would care about Four Heavenly Kings who were just mouthpieces for the Demon King?
