"Why does your voice sound so weak? Is falling down the stairs really that bad?" Leticia, wearing her cat-ear headphones, chatted with the Guild Leader while controlling her character.
Today was Saturday. Since finishing the matters from a few days ago, Melanie hadn't come to find Leticia, which made Miss Demon King feel quite comfortable.
It was wonderful not having to worry about opening her eyes and seeing a white-haired pervert in her room.
In her good mood, Leticia also took the time to study the book Melanie had left with her, and she concluded that the thing was indeed useless.
She really didn't know why Kira was so obsessed with this book; perhaps she would only know what Kira was thinking if she asked her in person.
"Try lying in bed for a few days without being able to use your phone or computer, while having to listen to your parents' nagging. You'd be weak too." The Guild Leader's voice carried a deep exhaustion; she truly was quite tired.
"Whoa, how tragic. Did you hurt your hand?"
"My hands are fine, but I broke a leg. Luckily the doctors at the hospital are skilled, otherwise, I'm afraid I'd be bedridden for months." The Guild Leader sighed. "How's the guild been these past few days?"
"Good, quite good. What could possibly go wrong?" Leticia, who had always stayed on the fringes of the guild, replied with full confidence.
Although she didn't participate in guild management and was only responsible for leading the group in Guild Wars, it didn't stop her from reporting to the leader that all was well.
After all, while their guild might lack in other areas, the atmosphere was top-notch. Everyone was very kind, and there was none of the infighting among players found in some large guilds.
Even though the Guild Leader hadn't been online for several days, the guild was still filled with the same pleasant atmosphere as when she was around.
In other words, it was the same whether the leader was there or not.
"I have some things to do lately, so I'm afraid I won't be able to fulfill what I promised you, Leticia." The Guild Leader said with some regret. "Is our Diamond rank still there?"
"It's still there, I guarantee we won't drop." Leticia nodded.
Of course it was still there; at the critical moment before dropping a rank, she had promptly decided to stop this round of the Guild War right then and there.
As long as they didn't fight, they wouldn't lose points, so their Diamond rank was safe.
"You don't plan on continuing, do you?" The Guild Leader saw right through Leticia's little scheme, but she had no intention of objecting. "Forget it, everyone's tired enough this season. Let's just rest for the remaining two weeks."
Not fighting was better than fighting and ending up dropping a rank. At least now she could still brag that her guild was a Diamond guild. Even if the score was a bit low, it was still Diamond, right?
"A wise decision." Leticia hurriedly flattered the Guild Leader. "Guild Leader, which hospital are you in? Should I come visit you?"
Leticia only knew that the Guild Leader lived in Central City like her, but she wasn't sure exactly where.
As for meeting the Guild Leader, she had been considering it for a while. After an incredibly complex internal struggle, she finally decided to meet one of her patrons to deepen their acquaintance.
The amount the Guild Leader had spent on Leticia's in-game purchases totaled several thousand. For that alone, Leticia felt she had to properly thank her.
"Eh? Why bring this up all of a sudden?" The Guild Leader was a bit surprised by Leticia's request. It wasn't that she didn't want to see Leticia; on the contrary, she had suggested meeting offline when they first met.
But back then, Leticia had refused.
The reason was that she didn't like going out much. The Guild Leader automatically interpreted this as Leticia not trusting her yet.
After all, meeting an online friend was indeed somewhat dangerous.
"Guild Leader, we've known each other for a long time, haven't we?" Leticia didn't answer the question directly.
"Yeah, it's been a few years."
"Having been friends for so long, we should definitely meet. But let me warn you first, I'm not good-looking."
"Stop joking around, I'm sure you're a great beauty, Yuna... Hmm, there's no time like the present. I'll be discharged on Tuesday, so how about we meet at the west entrance of Commercial Street on Wednesday?" The Guild Leader's mood lifted significantly. "Oh, right, bring York Rose along too. I'll also invite a friend."
Hearing the Guild Leader mention Melanie, Leticia snorted. "Her? Why invite her?"
"York Rose is our friend too. Since we're friends, let's all get together." The Guild Leader said with a chuckle. "The more the merrier; it's better when it's lively."
"She has a terrible temper and pulls a long face all day. If you have her come, the atmosphere won't be lively—it'll just be awkward." Leticia warned.
To this, the Guild Leader expressed that she didn't believe it.
"No way, no way. I've chatted with York Rose before. My first impression of her was that she's cold on the outside but warm on the inside. I'm sure her temper isn't bad."
"Yuna, tell the truth, are you and York Rose a thing? Otherwise, why won't you bring her out to see me? Are you afraid I'll steal your Little York away?"
"Guild Leader, I have a feeling you and Leticia might actually find common ground." Leticia was helpless; where was this even coming from?
"Hehe, just tell me if it's true or not."
"Of course not!"
