Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 – The Golden Rift

The golden crack in the sky did not close for hours.

Most people dismissed it as a strange atmospheric event—something unusual, but harmless.

But those who were sensitive to aura… felt it clearly.Something had touched the world.

That night, Nyari couldn't sleep.

The faint glow still lingered in her mind, as if it had carved itself into her chest. Her heartbeat was uneven, her aura unstable.

Just as she closed her eyes—

The voice returned.

"Nyari… you feel it, don't you?"

She froze.

"That light… it is mine. But this world… is starting to feel too small for me."

Nyari slowly sat up.

"What do you mean?"

A pause.

"Kai."

Her breath caught.

"That boy… he is your balance. But he is my weakness."

Nyari clenched her fists.

"Don't even think about hurting him."

Silence.

Then, colder this time—

"I exist to protect you.But there is someone else protecting you as well."

A faint pressure built inside her chest.

"And his presence… suffocates my light."

Nyari's eyes widened.

"Are you threatening him?"

"No."

A short pause.

"But if necessary… I will remove him."

That was the moment it hit her.

This wasn't protection.

This was jealousy.

At the same time, across the academy, Kai sat alone in his room.

The air felt heavier than usual. Jinwi's presence wasn't calm—it was restless, almost irritated.

"Something is wrong."

Kai didn't look up.

"The light?"

A brief pause.

"No… the God of Light."

Kai's fingers tightened slightly.

"It's inside her."

Jinwi's voice sharpened.

"And right now… it sees you as a threat."

Kai's jaw locked.

"It won't touch her."

"It can."

"…Not if I stop it."

"That's exactly why it's angry."

Kai lifted his head slightly.

"Jinwi… can you defeat a god?"

Silence.

Then—

"I can destroy any god… except the one above all."

Kai didn't react.

"But if I destroy the one inside her…"

A pause.

"She dies too."

For a moment, Kai said nothing.

"…Then there will be no fight."

Jinwi's answer came instantly.

"I didn't say that."

A colder tone.

"I said it's inevitable."

The next morning, Kai was called to the back garden.

Dorum and Selvan were already there.

The air felt… off.

Dorum spoke first, low and serious.

"The aura flow changed last night."

Selvan adjusted his glasses.

"That wasn't a natural fluctuation."

Kai didn't bother hiding it.

"I know."

A short silence followed.

"It's the God of Light," he added. "Through Nyari."

Dorum's eyes darkened.

"If it fully awakens… it won't stay passive."

Selvan
