Alexander slowly rose to his feet; his gaze settled on Manson, cold and unwavering.
"Why wouldn't I be interested in you?" he asked, his voice edging with irritation, "It's the only way I can protect Fiona?"
Manson's hand flew dramatically to his chest.
"Ew…"
He took a step back, his face filled with exaggerated horror.
"I don't do guys…"
He crossed his arms protectively over his chest, narrowing his eyes at Alexander.
"Even if I ever wanted one, I'd have a standard. Definitely not you, buffalo."
Alexander's jaw clenched.
"I'm not joking," he muttered, his expression hardening. "Stay away from her."
Manson pointed to himself.
"Do I look like a joker to you?"
Alexander extended a hand towards Manson.
"I don't care, just stay away from her."
Fiona glanced at the both of them.
"Damn it," she muttered under her breath. "I didn't get the chance to make Alex jealous."
She scratched her hair.
