The car rolled to a stop before the entrance of the Grand Hotel; Raphael hurried out, opening the rear door and bowing respectfully.
Manson stepped out, his expression carved from ice. He circled the car before Raphael could hurry forward; he opened the door and seized Fiona, by the arm.
"Come out."
Fiona refused to step out, her thoughts racing in every direction
'It's my fault; I shouldn't have called them both at the same time.'
Her throat tightened before her mind flashed back to Alex.
'What if Alex dies?' guilt squeezed her chest. 'I'm responsible for hurting him.'
Manson's grip tightened.
"Fucking come out!"
Still, she remained frozen, Manson snapped.
His nostrils flared, he bent into the car. He scooped her up and lifted her effortlessly into his arms, walking towards the entrance.
