When Hawks reached the school, he didn't find Akira through any window.
He looked throughout the grounds from the sky. There was no sign of her.
It could be an outdoor training. That was supposed to be the general conclusion.
But the slight commotion he heard from the Principal's Office suggested a problem his hero heart couldn't ignore.
He perched near the window, away from the obvious view and eavesdropped.
There was only one voice. But not one presence. One..Two.. Three....Seven. A total of seven people were inside the room.
A slightly rattled rhythm of hearts. A deep sigh.
" We cannot change what had already happened. The kids are safe. That is all we need.
And it is the best of our interests if we bury this incident under a lie.
The children showed maturity beyond their age. They will not be punished for it.
The school will take the blame. The heroes will take the blood.
The future of our nation, our plus ultra, they saw the ugly truths of the hero society. They became a part of it.
But. The objective of the class, the power of their quirks, the danger they could cause, they all learnt it. The hard way.

Those were the words that he heard.
He was now absolutely certain something happened. He immediately opened the window, his face changing back to his usual grace.
" Yo!"
The room was not ready for the Number three hero to suddenly open their window, drop in with casual finger salute and sit on the window sill all of a sudden.
" So, what happened exactly?" Hawks asked the room of teachers and principal with that smile he always carried on his face betraying the turmoil in his heart.
A few moments passed as he learned about the situation. About the Nomu, the fight and the aftermath, directly from the one who was actually present during the incident.
He excused himself to check on his ward.
When he heard what she actually did with that Nomu, he was equally proud and worried.
' That's my girl. But you're definitely scared. ' And his thoughts proved themselves right when she stepped out of that room.
Now the same girl who had committed and encouraged multiple murders is sleeping in his arms.
He could not blame her. He was the one who taught her to go for the most efficient route even if it's not the most morally sound one. Though, he was mildly disturbed and equally excited on how easily she was able to understand without falling into a moral dilemma when he first taught her these things.
She was quite flexible morally. Infact, when he opened up to her about his biological family, she was more mad at him for still clinging on to his absolute failure of a garbage face of a mother and father she put it than anything else.
It was almost funny at how easily she can judge without taking sides or getting emotional.
According to her, his father is a total failure of a husband, father and even a human. And his mother is a failure of a mother and human.
And that none of it is his fault except still clinging onto his mother emotionally.
He remembered the words so clearly.
" You didn't ask to be born. It's their choice. And damn well their responsibility. And they failed. The villain commission, sorry sorry brother, the hero commission, it's their fucking job to protect and provide. And you don't have to be indebted to some assholes cause they fucking did their job. For once. And honestly speaking, you're being manipulated very very badly my brother. I'm offended. Let's overthrow government. Wait no. You take over it. Then we'll peel their skin off, rub salt on it, fry them in oil, heal them just enough to not die, then pull their hair so hard their scalp comes off, make them drink their own blood, throw them into slugs and -"
Hawks almost smiled at the memory. She always had the very questionable ideas. He had to stop her brainstorming session that day and she was pouting muttering something about killing creativity.
She was the one who may have accidentally or not liberated him from a lifetime of debt. It all looked so simple now that he looked back. Funny how he was actually feeling indebted.
But ever since that day, he was a hero. Not because of debt and job. But because of choice. To protect people like himself. Just like she did. She may plan like a villain and get creative but her heart, it was always in the right place.
A whole hour passed since they left the school.
Akira was finally waking up and yawning. She looked like a kitten. A very fierce one with claws and bite. But kitten nonetheless.
" Enjoyed the nap time leafy?" He raised a brow as he held her securely making sure she won't fall off the branch.
"Mmmmmmmm... morning"
She snuggled into him and just lied there yawning and staring into space.
" It's afternoon. And you're currently supposed to be in school. " He laughed shifting her in his arms.
" You kidnapped me. Not my problem. " She snuggled back closing her eyes.
" Chikky....." She silently muttered into his chest after another hour of sleep.
" Hmm? Finally waking up?" He teased lightly, staying still the whole time.
" I have a vial of blue ringed octopus poison in my pocket."
