Chapter 11 - Chapter 10

Four Days Before School Starts

Today was the next day of the sleepover, and the whole experience for the young boy was uninteresting, for he found nothing exciting to remember or experience.

In the hot, blazing sun stood the young boy watching Ren and Hao Xian running around the house to escape from Yuna-nee and Riko-nee.

Ren: "No! I don't wanna!"

Hao Xian: "You can not force us, Yuna-nee! Riko-nee!"

Yuna-nee and Riko-nee glared at them, catching their breath by the foot of the stairs, while Ren and Hao Xian were on top of the stairs, also catching their breath.

Yuna-nee: "Enough running, you can not escape this!"

Riko-nee: "Yeah! You two need to go!"

Ren: "Why do we have to!?"

Yuna-nee: "Because you need to get your flu shot, Ren!"

Riko-nee: "Why are you so mean to your nee-sans!"

That is right, both Yuna-nee and Riko-nee are running after those two to get their flu shots.

The young boy calmly watched the chaotic situation unfolding before him in his own house.

By the way, the young boy was not running away nor cowering in fear because...

Yuiko-chan: "Nii-sama!"

The Young Boy: "Yes?"

Yuiko-chan: "I got you, so me, Riko-nee, and Yuna-nee need to take you to get the fwu shoots."

Riko-nee: "Flu shots, it is flu shots"

Ren: "Hey, dude, why are you not running away with us?"

Riko-nee: "Wait, hang on, what about...."

Yuna-nee: "No, he already got his flu shot."

Riko-nee: "What?"

Ren: "Seriously?"

Hao Xian: "Yeah... I saw that happen...that is why I suggest we run away because...he also ran away."

Yuna-nee: "Yeah, he was so good at it...he heard his mother's sister was giving flu shots to his cousin, and when he saw it, he fled to Auntie Lunette's place, then we had to find him and restrain him so he could safely get the shot."

Ren and Riko-nee then turned to the young boy, who sighed and went to the couch to watch TV.

Hao Xian laughed, remembering the incident

Yuna-nee: "Well, both of you should not follow that example at all!"

Ren: "No! he gets to run away, so we should do it too!"

Hao Xian: "Yeah! Both of you are just stupid heads!"

Ren: "Yeah! You both have nothing better to do because you have no friends or boyfriends to hang out with you, immature loners!"

From that moment, Yuna-nee and Riko-nee exuded this menacing aura

Yuna-nee: "Yuiko-chan..."

Yuiko-chan: "Yes...Yuna-nee?"

Riko-nee: "Help us restrain your nii-sans, Hao Xian and Ren."

Yuiko-chan: "But..."

Yuna-chan: "We will dote and pamper you if you help us."

Yuiko-chan: "Okay!"

She was convinced very quickly, bribery at its finest, and so the trio of sisters began to run upstairs after them while the two boys were screaming.

Ren: "You are just proving our point!"

Hao Xian: "Yeah! You couple of loners!"

The five of them disappeared into the upstairs hall, and the young boy continued watching his TV show.

After a few minutes had passed, loud noises began on the upstairs floor

The young boy did not help them, not because he wanted them to suffer or because he didn't care about them, but because he could not deny the benefits of getting infections.

Ren and Hao Xian's screams could be heard from the upstairs corridor, and the young boy felt annoyed.

Volume: 10%.....25%....50%...

Hao Xian: "Ahhh!"

Volume: 55%.....65%....75%

Ren: "We are sorry for calling you loners!"

Volume: 90%.....95%....100%....MAXED

"This is what you both get!"

Yuna-nee and Riko-nee screamed that from upstairs, and Yuiko-chan came down looking satisfied.

Yuiko-chan: "Yeah, I am getting head pats and lap pillows later!"

What exactly kind of reward is that?

The young boy could not understand the benefits or effectiveness of both head pats and lap pillows.

He kept on watching the TV show until the four of them, Yuna-nee, Riko-nee, Ren, and Hao Xian, went off to the clinic to get the flu shot for the two boys.

Auntie Lunette: "So do I have to watch you two here?"

The Young Boy: "Yeah, I guess so..."

Yuiko: "Auntie Lunette...can you play board games with me and nii-sama?"

Auntie Lunette: "No, sorry, I am not in the mood."

Yuiko-chan: "Awe!"

Yuiko-chan went back to the young boy who was busy setting up the board game they were going to play on the floor.

The Young Boy: "What did she say?"

Yuiko-chan: "She said no..."

The Young Boy: "Awe!"

Yuiko-chan and the young boy were currently being watched by Auntie Eun-hee while Riko-nee and Yuna-nee were dragging Ren and Hao Xian to the clinic to get the flu shots.

Riko-nee and Yuna-nee found Auntie Lunette just walking back home from her work, and made her watch over them...she tried to refuse, but Yuna-nee and Riko-nee dragged the compliant and remorseful Ren and Han Xian to the clinic quickly before she could reply.

Nanami was not there as she was currently at a playdate with her friends

Auntie Lunette: "Ohhh, why!...my boss gave my coworkers and me a day off, and I was looking forward to rest, but now I have to babysit Yuiko....

Hiina-chan: "Yuiko-chan!"

Auntie Lunette: "What?"

Yuiko-chan: "Call me Yuiko-chan..."

Auntie Lunette grumbled on the sofa

"Yuiko-chan and this young boy..."

Auntie Lunette let out a sigh, then continued to complain on her own by the couch, looking tired and detached from reality.

Yuiko-chan and the young boy, meanwhile, were playing board games together and laughing.

Both of them competed, and they kept on playing, refusing to accept defeat from the other.

Auntie Lunette looked at both of them and decided on an idea.

Auntie Lunette: "Hey, both of you..."

Yuiko-chan: "Yes? Auntie Lunette?"

Auntie Lunette: "You want to go out?"

Yuiko-chan: Out?

Later, the three of them arrived at a family restaurant where they all got to try out interesting types of food....Yuiko-chan, however, refused to eat anything other than egg, bread, miso, strawberries or rice.

Auntie Lunette wanted to complain, but she complied when Yuiko-chan looked as if she was about to cry there in the middle of the restaurant, and so she complied.

The Young Boy, meanwhile, just stared at the menu, and he ended up having the same order as Yuiko-chan, as the young boy wanted egg, rice, and chicken and nothing else.

The young boy and Yuiko-chan were both picky, and each stuck to their own preferences of what they considered good or bad to eat.

The young boy began to feel so bored waiting for his food to come, and kept on bothering Yuiko-chan, to which Auntie Lunette had to scold him occasionally.

Auntie Lunette would comment on how, despite being nice and kind most of the time, the young boy had his moments of immaturity.

"Hey! They are here!"

"Let's go, it is starting!"

"What!"

"Let's head there now."

"Yeah!"

There was a crowd of people who looked to be running outside and shouting something.

Auntie Lunette looked at the crowd of people in her seat, and then she rested her face on her fist that is on the table.

Auntie Lunette: "There seems to be some event...I wonder what it is about?"

The young boy and Yuiko-chan didn't notice the loud noises or Auntie Lunette's comment on the crowd as they were busy eating and talking to each other about who won the last game of their board game.

The family market was set in a busy area, and so occasional events were being held, but the three did not know what these occasional events were about.

The family market in this area was often full of customers, filled with families.

Auntie Lunette looked at the happy couples and had a sad smile on her face as she watched them, feeling a knot tied in her stomach and her heart getting warm.

Envy was too bad-sounding, but it was understandable.

Auntie Lunette only stared at those couples, and then she turned to the young boy and Yuiko-chan, seeing both of them the same way she saw him with Nanami, and as she did, she gained this motivation to hang out and take care of both of them while it lasts.

She wishes to just pretend that she was just taking out her kids and their dad was at work and not at their home, flirting with another woman.

She sighed and watched both of them waiting for their food to come

Yuiko-chan: "Hey, Nii-sama, I am bored."

The Young Boy: "I am bored too."

Yuiko-chan: "Ugh, it is so boring~"

Auntie Lunette: "No complaining, you two!"

The Young Boy: "Ehhh!?"

Yuiko-chan: "Ehhh!?"

Auntie Lunette: "Do not 'Ehhh!?' me, you two brats!...ahem....sorry."

There were a few people who stared at them, and Auntie Lunette apologized deeply for the disturbance, and everyone else went back to their business.

Auntie Lunette: "Ugh...I can not believe I let my composure out just now."

Yuiko-chan: "Auntie Lunette, you are such a bad girl."

Auntie Lunette: "Be quiet, I do not want to hear that from you."

The Young Boy: "My mommy told me you should not shout at people."

Auntie Lunette: "Your mother shouts at your father most of the time, you know...however, though the difference is your mother is often unreasonable and biased."

The Young Boy: "Auntie Lunette! Are you insulting my mother?!"

Auntie Lunette: "That is not what I am doing."

Yuiko-chan: "Do not insult Auntie Colette."

The Young Boy: "Yeah, you should not...!"

Waiter: "Hello...here is your food, sirs and ma'ams

Auntie Lunette: "Ohhh, look, your food is here for you two."

Both of them quieted down, and then they ate, not speaking to Auntie Lunette, while she made a face as if she won...what an interesting adult woman.

Auntie Lunette: "You both are such high-maintenance kids."

Yuiko-chan: "What does high-maintenance mean?"

Auntie Lunette: "No, it is nothing, keep eating your food, Yuiko-chan."

The young boy, of course, did not understand what the term high-maintenance means, but like always, he pushes the thought reasoning that it was a grown-up word.

Auntie Lunette watched both of them eat.

She stared at them and smiled at their happy and messy faces as they ate their food and talked to each other about video games and cartoons.

Yuiko-chan: "I think Sailor Moon is the best show."

Auntie Lunette: "Ohhh, that Japanese anime, huh? I heard it was popular amongst many women of all ages."

Yuiko-chan: "Yeah! My favorite of the Sailor Scouts is Sailor Jupiter

Auntie Lunette: "Why her, Yuiko-chan?"

Yuiko-chan: "That is because she is the Guardian of Thunder and Courage. Years ago, her parents died in a plane crash, and now she lives alone, taking care of herself.

Auntie Lunette: "Ohhh?"

Yuiko-chan: "That is why I want to be as strong and courageous as Sailor Jupiter."

Auntie Lunette: "My favorite is Luna."

Yuiko-chan: "Ohhh!"

The young boy ate in silence, not understanding the conversation, because he did not watch Sailor Moon at all; in fact, he only watched Pokémon, because that was what was on TV at the time.

Waiter: "Here is your coffee, ma'am."

Auntie Lunette: "Take you, sir."

Auntie Lunette drinks her coffee while she watches over the young boy and Yuiko-chan as they both eat in the family restaurant.

The family restaurant, despite the crowded people, had a bright atmosphere as each one of them ate, talked, and laughed together.

She took both of them window shopping and holding both of their hands on each of her sides, and that started a warm feeling in her heart as she could only smile, the dopamine within her rising every minute she took care of them.

She did not forget about Nanami, in fact, she wished she were here with them, but after that whole conflict in that fancy hotel and the misunderstanding at the beach the day after, Nanami starts to push the young boy away, not wanting to hang out with him.

Auntie Lunette did not know if this was out of guilt and resentment.

She tried multiple times to make Nanami come over to the young boy's house, but she still refuses.

Despite finding her expression and tone cute, she was still concerned about her avoidance of the young boy; after all, he was her first friend.

Later in that day...

The young boy stood alone in the street, shocked, scared, and afraid.

Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan were no longer to be seen.

That was because the young boy was currently lost.

This happened a few minutes ago as the three of them went into a store. Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan were walking when the young boy saw something that caught his eye, and he headed for it.

He checked it out and was shocked and amazed at the games and cards being sold in the store. Then, he heard a musical sound and found the TV that showed a music video with the person within the video having good choreography and vocals. And the moment the video ended, the young boy turned and found that he was alone.

The young boy decided to wait outside for Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan to come out of the store, but a few minutes had passed, and the young boy had begun to panic inside.

The young boy then remembered his school talking about what to do when you are lost, and so he began to head off to look for a police man and ask them for help in finding Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan.

He searched for a few minutes and found a police man

The Young Boy: "Excuse me, sir?"

The Police Guard: "Yes, what is wrong?"

The Young Boy: "I got lost, sir, from my Auntie and my friend."

The Police Guard: "Can you tell me what they look like?"

The young boy then did his best to explain, but because he lacked the words to fully answer the police guard, this made the guard have difficulty finding Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan in the crowd. The police guard then radioed his colleagues, and they came a few minutes later.

Now there were about three police guards

The Police Guard: "Okay...let's try to go around and find your parents..."

The young boy and the three guards looked around and attempted to find them.

Police Guard 1: "Is that them?"

The Young Boy: "No."

Police Guard 2: "What about those two?"

The Young Boy: "No."

Police Guard 3: "How about them?"

The Young Boy: "Uhhh."

Police Guard 1: "No he said a woman, and a little woman that is indeed a woman, but there are two children with her."

Police Guard 3: "Ohhh."

Police Guard 2: "Hey, boss, what do you think we should do?"

Police Guard 1: "Hmmm..."

The three police guards continued with their discussion together and while this happened, the young boy looked on and felt very nervous as to what would happen to him.

The young boy stood there.

He felt so nervous as he was on the brink of crying

He first thought about his parents, who took care of him for many years and who have showered him with love for most of their days while disciplining him in not so many days.

He wanted to see his mother, who would comfort him and make him feel happy.

He wanted to see his father, who would joke around and spend time with him.

He then thought about Nanami and Auntie Lunette

He wanted to see Auntie Lunette again and spend more time with her.

He wanted to hang out with Nanami as her pseudo-older brother again, but he felt nervous seeing her now.

He then thought about Ren, Hao Xian, and So-mang

He wanted to play video games with Ren again.

He wanted to watch funny comedies with Hao Xian

He wanted to hang out with So-mang again and read manhwa again with him.

He thought about everyone else

Yuna-nee, who treated him like a younger brother

Riko-nee, who sang and danced in front of him while Ren and Hao Xian would secretly peek at her from outside the room.

Yuiko-chan, who would play board games and treat him like an older brother

Haoran who he wanted to fix his friendship and brotherhood

Ningyi, who was close with Nanami, and he never got to repair his friendship with her.

Sena-noona, who wasn't able to talk or look at her anymore, since both of them were awkward with each other after that.

In-ah, who also treated him like an older brother, and would be the type who would sulk and pout when being ignored.

Auntie Eun-hee, who helped him to deal with his guilt at the beach

Reyon, who is probably waiting at home and might never see again, because...because....because

The young boy sat down crying to himself as he was afraid...afraid....afraid....so very afraid to lose everything and everyone in his life.

He did not want that, and so he kept on crying, and the police guard was doing their best to calm him down and then.

Police Guard 1: "Hey, kid, come on, don't cry, it will be okay."

Police Guard 2: "Calm down, kid. Stay strong for your family

Police Guard 3: Do not worry just leave it to us, okay."

Just then, out of nowhere

Yuiko-chan: "Nii-sama!"

Auntie Lunette: "Hey, you little..."

The Young Boy: "Auntie...Lunette....sniff....Yuiko-chan..."

Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan came, and they wrapped their arms around the young boy and comforted him as he kept on crying while holding them tight.

Later That Day.

Police Guard 1: Well then, ma'am, stay safe, okay."

Auntie Lunette: "Okay."

Police Guard 2: "Hey, kid, you also be safe, okay?"

The Young Boy: "Okay."

Police Guard 3: "Well, goodbye then."

Yuiko-chan: "Goodbye, Mr. and Mrs. police people."

Auntie Lunette: "Yuiko-chan and I were by the Sailor Moon part of the store, so we can buy her some things for her...I was about to walk into the next aisle when I noticed you were gone. I am sorry for not noticing at all; however, that does not give you an excuse to run off, okay?"

The Young Boy: "..."

Auntie Lunette: "Hey, young man! Are you listening?"

Yuiko-chan: "Nii-sama?"

The Young Boy: "I am sorry....I am sorry.....I am sorry..."

Auntie Lunette: "Hey! Listen to me...it is okay....you suffered enough, so let's go buy some ice cream for us three, then go home. Does that sound good for you?"

The Young Boy: "Yeah!"

Yuiko-chan: "Do not worry, Nii-sama, I am holding your hand tight so you would not get lost again..."

The Young Boy: "Okay!"

The young boy walked home with Auntie Lunette and Yuiko-chan by his side, holding his hand tight to keep him from getting lost and to give him a sense of safety.

They all got ice cream and then walked home.

The young boy met up with Yuna-nee and Riko-nee, who had fallen asleep on the couch. Ren was eating some cake, and Hao Xian was playing with Reyon.

Yuiko-chan: "I want to play with Reyon too!"

Hao Xian: "Okay, come here then, and I will show you how to play with him."

Yuiko-chan: "Okay!"

Yuiko joined Hao Xian in playing with Reyon.

Auntie Lunette: "Well, goodbye then. I shall be going to pick up Nanami."

The Young Boy: "Okay, see you soon, Auntie Lunette."

Auntie Lunette: "Ohhh yeah, by the way."

The Young Boy: "Hmmm?"

Auntie Lunette: "I hope you make up with Nanami sooner or later...I missed it when you two were happy and having fun together."

The young boy then had this slight feeling in his stomach as he was still nervous and shy to see her after many days of not meeting up with her eye to eye.

The Young Boy: "Yeah...I hope so too."

Auntie Lunette: "Me too, okay bye now!"

The Young Boy: "Bye!"

Three Days Before School Starts

The young man was never able to make up with Nanami, Haoran, Ningyi, So-mang, In-ah, and Sena-noona for the past three days. He did not see Auntie Eun-hee or Auntie Lunette visit anymore because they have gotten busier in their work and personal lives.

Two Days Before School Starts

Ren and Hao Xian still hang out with him, but it feels incomplete without So-mang.

One Day Before School Starts

Yuna-nee, Riko-nee, and Yuiko-chan still hung out with the young boy, but not at the same time as the other six, who hung out without the young boy participating to avoid making it awkward and uncomfortable for everyone of them.

The Night Before School Starts

The young boy and Reyon play together in the room of the young boy while his mom and dad are watching TV in the living room.

Despite the unresolved conflicts and broken friendships.

The young boy still felt fine, but he worried whether he would be able to repair those same friendships, as he was not able to until the very end of his summer vacation.
