Sunnie watched him eat as she slowly brought her hands to pat him on the ears. He was always cute when he ate. He ate in such a way that made any chef happy to cook more. The way he ate was enough to bring a smile on the face of anyone watching him, like Sunnie in that moment.
"You're clearly so hungry, eating like someone who hasn't eaten for ages. Why are you running away then? We're not going to eat you or anything."
He continued eating for a while without saying anything. He didn't even speak until he was done with the meal.
When he was finished, he stared at the bowl in his hand as though looking for answers in it. After a while, he said, "I'm sorry."
Sunnie stared at him. "There you go again. What are you apologizing for now?"
He hesitated, his head down as he said, "I was the one who found the boar. But I didn't protect it. I let them have it."
Sunnie stared at him while she asked softly, "And who took it? Did they beat you in a fight to take it?"
