'Can I kill her ?' my wolf asked me.
'What the hell... Zene, go back to sleep!' I told her.
Even though I told her to sleep, my brain started investigating who my wolf wanted to kill. I slowly open my eyes just enough to see a blurry image through my lashes, which didn't help if anyone wondered. But my investigation concluded as the air was knocked out of my lungs; in defense, I shoved whoever caused this off me.
Coughing and in panic, I looked around only to see my best friend, who had been warned multiple times not to attempt stunts like this, lying on the carpet, groaning, clutching her stomach. Glaring, I jumped on top of her, ignoring her screaming at me.
"Zes!! Get off me!" She yelled, punching me.
"You wouldn't wake up! I had to!" She exclaimed, pushing me off her.
"I would rather take a bucket of cold water than this," I groaned as I sat up.
"No, you wouldn't. Stop lying," she rolled her eyes.
"Why have you woken me up at the crack of dawn ?" I asked her, glaring at her.
"9 am isnt crack of dawn, Zes, I swear to God." She rolled her eyes, her patience slipping away.
"And we have a pack meeting to attend!" She cut me off before I could even get a word out.
Rude if you ask me. But something tells me she got kicked out of bed way too early.
"What time did you go to bed?" I ask her suspiciously.
"I didn't! Get ready, you have 30 mins. I am gonna make us breakfast, and a truckload of coffee for me," She grumbled away.
I would love to annoy her more, but my survival instincts fought their way.
'You mean me?' Zene chimes in.
'I didn't say my wolf, did I ?' I rolled my eyes.
Zene is my wolf's name. Ever since I turned six, she's been stuck in my head- well, I wouldn't say head; it's more like she is a part of me, since my first shift. Zene is a calm and cool wolf. And she's always right; it's like having an older sister. It's annoying. But overall, she is a great wolf.
I sprinted to my closet and chose a black tank top and ripped jeans, along with my favorite sports shoes. I did my makeup and tied my hair into a high pony.
I checked myself out in the mirror. My medium brown hair with blonde highlights, which usually swayed around my waist, was pulled into a high pony, and my side bangs were left hanging in my face. I had grey eyes. My clothes hugged my thin frame and small curves.
'Damn, we look hot,' cooed Zene. I rolled my eyes and chuckled in reply to her comment.
I heard Mae call from downstairs. Oh right, my best friend who might kill me is Mae; she will be my beta when I take over the pack. My Dad is the Alpha of the pack, so his firstborn will take over the pack when they turn 21, so as his daughter, I will take over the pack very soon, actually.
"Zes! Mae is drinking her second cup of coffee!" My mom yelled from downstairs.
Sighing, I ran downstairs, and thankfully I didn't fall down the stairs. Falling down the stairs is one of my pet peeves. Like, imagine just tumbling down the stairs cause you lost your footing and just lying on the floor like a drunkard. I shiver at the image.
I grab the cup of coffee and thank Mae, ignoring her glare.
"Make your own!" She grumbled as I snuck in some breakfast from her plate.
"Too much work, we gotta go," I muttered, dragging her out of the house.
"We might as well run, like your speedwalking is helping," Mae rolled her eyes.
Oh dear Moon Goddess, why must I be tested cause she didn't get sleep?
Then Mae nudged me, and I turned to her. I realized I stopped and stared around.
"We gotta go to the packhouse, remember?" she reminded me.
"Let's run; we are gonna be late otherwise." I sigh.
She reminds me of a lot of stuff, like the official stuff at least. All the Alphas bring their future Alphas to the meetings to make us get slowly used to all the official stuff, so I had to go.
I saw my dad, Alpha Augustus, waiting. I hugged him. My dad is the best Alpha anyone could ask for; he's kind, compassionate, understanding, and very strong. The perfect combo to lead a pack. I stood next to him, waiting for other Alphas. A few moments later, Alphas, along with their sons or daughters, came in. We were having a meeting about the recent rogue attack.
~~~~~~~
After the long, boring meeting, I felt like going for a run; it was cold and snowy. The whole place was covered in a sheet of beautiful white snow. The few cottages around just added to the scenic beauty. I loved the cold weather.
I went to the secluded corner, just a little outside my pack borders. I took off my clothes and hung them on a tree, and I shifted into my beautiful grey and white wolf form. My grey wolf eyes indicated I was in control, and my thick white coat of fur kept me warm in this icy cold climate. My wolf was much bigger than most of the she-wolves because I had Alpha blood.
'Hey, hey, hey, can I take control? Pretty please?' Zene asked.
I thought about it; there was no harm in her being in control. She doesnt do crazy stuff, well, usually not. 'Alright'. I allowed. My eyes would have glowed electric blue, showing Zene was in control.
I felt my paws dig into the soft snow, leaving paw prints behind me. I heard additional pawsteps following closely. I shifted my gaze to a cream-colored wolf with striking blue eyes running beside me. It was a male wolf, and looking at his size, he had Alpha blood in him. He mind linked me.
"Hey, beautiful," he said through the mind link.
"My parents told me not to talk to strangers," I replied.
"Oh, is the future Alpha scared now?" he taunted.
"Careful there," I growled, narrowing my eyes at him.
"oo scary," he mocked.
I didn't realise we were circling each other, but when I realised it, I pounced on him and put my claws on his neck, and said, "What. do. you. want?"
"Okay, chill!" I don't know how, but I could tell he was smiling. "Feisty, I like it," he added.
"Dorky, I hate it." I sneered.
He rolled and got me below him.
"See, now this is better, isn't it! Although I love this little interaction, wanna hang out like humans too?" he asked.
'Is he really out of his mind?' I asked Zene. For some reason, Zene was flattered. I rolled so that he would be below me.
"Tough chance, lover boy," I cooed, pressing my claws a little deeper into his neck. He let out a low growl.
I let out a low growl before getting off him. I stared at him for a little bit before going back to my corner to change back. When I was out, I saw this 6-foot-ish-tall man, brunette, dressed in a black quarter-zip with his white shirt collar peeking through; I noticed his white collar stained with a little blood. I glanced at his beautiful blue eyes. And obviously he was well built, cause you know future alpha and all, gotta be strong and hot.
Well, no matter how good-looking a person is, it still doesn't mean I can talk to strangers. Wait, I recognized him from the pack meeting - he was Knox Everett, the future Alpha of The Blood Moon Pack. I looked away, realizing that I was staring at him for too long. He smirked.
"It's not just your wolf who looks hot," he said while I was walking away.
I tried to hide my smile, and Zene purred in delight, for which she was scolded for.
