Ava, had her mouth open wide. She didn't understand Madeline new attitude for a few days now.
Madeline almost never had a comeback for her, she wasn't at all eloquent but now, she could talk fast and even cry on cue. She was astonished to find Thomas looking at Madeline with guilt. He had never looked at her that way.
Madeline looked so much like Caroline she feared he was thinking about her with that look in his eyes as he stared at Madeline.
Seeing Ava looking confused with her swollen eyes and open mouth showing her missing tooth, Madeline tried hard to stiffled her laugh, it was almost a failed attempt when Zachary pulled her into his embrace. Her head resting on his chest, he used his hands to cover her face.
"Is this how my wife is being treated in her own home?" His stare pierced on Thomas as he asked.
