Tessa waited for Lily to defend herself, expecting another excuse or complaint, but before the woman could even open her mouth properly, Tessa interrupted her with a cold smile.
"Well, maybe you're actually the dumb one among us," Tessa said lazily. "Who knows? I was already labeled barren and mute before, so perhaps the curse transferred to you."
Lily gasped loudly at the insult.
Her face twisted with disbelief before she instinctively turned toward her two males for support, but both Nathan and Elias simply stood there awkwardly like lifeless statues.
Not a single one defended her.
That only made the humiliation worse.
"Aww, Lily," Tessa continued mockingly, "your companions aren't even helping you. That's what happens when you choose trash for mates."
She shrugged dramatically.
"But I guess they're your husbands now, so congratulations on your forever bond."
The disgust on Lily's face deepened immediately.
Tessa noticed it clearly and almost laughed.
