With the work finally done, Tessa stood in the middle of the settlement waiting for the reward that was supposed to come afterward. Her hands tightened at her sides in excitement while her eyes darted around expectantly.
Nothing happened.
Not even a sparkle.
"I don't understand… isn't something meant to happen?" Tessa muttered under her breath while pacing around anxiously.
Her companions stood nearby watching her with confusion because, as usual, none of them understood what was going on inside her head whenever she suddenly started acting strange.
Tessa stopped pacing and crossed her arms.
"I just want to collect our reward."
The second the word reward left her mouth, every beastman around her immediately straightened.
Their ears perked.
Their eyes widened.
Even Zephyr, who usually looked calm and composed, shifted with curiosity.
Tessa suddenly rushed forward, eyes glowing brighter than the afternoon sunlight.
"I want a reward too! I'm also getting one!"
