"Back to food… did someone say they were hungry?" Tessa asked suspiciously.
Immediately, all four men shook their heads at the exact same time.
Too fast.
Too synchronized.
Too guilty.
Tessa narrowed her eyes at them. "You all look like starving wolves pretending to be civilized."
Julian coughed awkwardly. "We are not starving."
His stomach growled loudly.
Zephyr pointed at him instantly. "Your body betrayed you."
"I hate all of you," Julian muttered.
Tessa snorted and continued walking toward the settlement center. Honestly, she should have known this would happen. The moment food became involved, their exhaustion magically disappeared. Just moments ago they had all been dragging themselves around dramatically as though they were dying from labor.

They were practically glowing.
