Back at the farm, grain poured steadily into the large barrel as Zane lifted a makeshift wooden bowl and emptied it over the top with a tired groan. Sweat glistened heavily across his forehead, dripping down his neck while the afternoon heat baked the entire farm.
"I want to swim. I need water. It feels like I'm getting burned alive out here," Zane complained dramatically, wiping his forehead with the back of his arm.
Nearby, Zephyr ignored him and continued packing tomatoes into another barrel Tessa had bought from the system. Thankfully, the system had offered her a discount for purchasing two barrels together. The price had still been outrageous, but at least buying them at once reduced the fixed cost a little.
"Stop whining and get back to work," Zephyr muttered while arranging the tomatoes carefully. "You're almost done with the yam tubers anyway."
"Water is important for relaxation," Valen interrupted lazily while leaning against a crate. "His muscles deserve rest too."
