Brielle
I was famished, my legs were aching and goddess knew I was about to drop dead from the constant errands.
Elena was determined to kill me with errands, I made trips to the furthest parts of the packs and nothing I did was acceptable before her.
I missed tending to horses, it was better than dealing with her, she was basically after my life.
"What took you so long?" She demanded as I walked into the garden and I panted heavily.
"Cat got your tongue?" She inquired as I opened my mouth to speak.
"I'm sorry mistress, it took some time to get the chef." I muttered and she scoffed as she glared at me.
"You feel. Dirty thing…" She was still speaking when Alpha Thor walked into the garden, a guard carrying a bow and arrows behind him.
Her jaws dropped as she sucked in. I was gripped with fear instantly as sweat appeared all over my body.
I couldn't help but remember the den. This was my first encounter with him since I became Elena's maid and goddess knew I wanted to enter the ground rather than be in the same space with him.
"Come with me." Elena instructed as she rose with poise and diligence, exposing more cleavage before she followed the alpha, a big seductive smile on her face.
"What a nice day for archery." She muttered as she walked towards him while I stopped beside the guard, scared that my next move might alter the alpha of my presence.
Alpha Thor said nothing and she smiled faintly, nervousness glaring at her insides as she stepped even closer.
"I've always loved archery and hunting, there's nothing more appealing than being able to aim and hit your target." She mumbled, chuckling softly.
"Huh." This was all Alpha Thor said and I could see the rage in her eyes.
"I don't mind being taught, maybe we could compete later." She offered and he took one glance at her, making her smile broadly before his eyes returned to the target.
He was staring at a bull's eye, his bow had been set and his arrow was in between.
His shoulders were broad and I couldn't help but stare at his back, he was quiet and calm, his shoulders were slightly relaxed like this was one of the easiest tasks in life.
My lips pasted when he fired the arrow, hitting the bull's eyes so sharp I was amazed. His shot was so clean, it felt like they were both made to perfection with the right amount of everything and excess amounts of handsomeness and cruelty.
"Bravo, you're so capable, is there anything you're not good at, Alpha?" She flattered and all he did was grunt at her.
Her frustrations were becoming more visible, she forced down her anger as a smile appeared on her lips.
He grabbed another arrow, firing the same shot, his arrow tearing into the last one, parting the wood into two as it hit the same spot again and I gasped.
I had never seen anything like this. Elena turned to me, I tried to fix my expression but it was too late as she stood in front of me.
"Loving the show? Who told you you could watch the Alpha? Have you forgotten your place? Need I remind you that you're nothing but a lowly animal, unworthy of the goddess you're receiving in this house? I'll teach you a lesson never to…" She lifted her hand to slap me as she spoke and I shut my eyes tightly, my body tense with fear.
Ten seconds later there was no slap and out of shock, I opened my eyes slowly and slapped my palms on my lips as I stepped back, my heart pounding heavily.
"Al… Alpha Thor."
"Nobody gets to touch what's mine." He snarled and although his words sent chills down my spine, I tried very hard not to let it get to me.
"I… I was just trying to… I'm sorry Alpha, pardon me." Elena whispered, bowing her head softly and he let go of her hand.
She glared at me, her eyes like sharp swords. "Leave." He commanded and she nodded, bowing her head softly.
I rose immediately, walking behind her. "Wait, the slave." He ordered and I froze as my body went cold for a minute before the temperature dropped drastically.
Everywhere was hot and cold at the same time. My stomach lurched, my heart raced and goosebumps appeared all over my skin as I knelt before him, my head bowed.
"Shift." He ordered and I inhaled deeply as tears formed in my eyes. I didn't dare utter a word even though I wanted to tell him that I couldn't.
He waited for a minute and I knew his patience was wearing thin.
"Shift." He repeated and this time around, my hands began to tremble as I whimpered, tears dropping in the ground in large goblets.
"Shift!" He snarled, grabbing my hate tightly.
"I… I can't…" I announced and something flickered in his eyes.
"I… My wolf has been dormant ever since I stepped into this pack, she's probably weak from running." I explained, my eyes shut while waiting for him to hit me for speaking with permission.
He continued staring at me without a word, I couldn't decipher what he was thinking and it increased my fears.
He let go of my hair roughly, watching me for a moment while I sobbed softly.
"Tell me, why does Dylan want you?" He demanded suddenly, his voice harsh and I shook my head.
"I… I don't know, Alpha."
"You're too useless to be wanted by an alpha, think hard, slave, the next time I order you to shift or tell me why Dylan wants you, I want answers, do not make me chop off your limbs before you start talking." He snarled before walking away while I slumped on the ground, breathing heavily while wondering what he was talking about.
