Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Can't Beat Them Anyway

Saito glanced at the driver in Hyakuya Sect attire, realizing time was running out.

He tried to grab the suitcase behind Krul, but Krul wouldn't let him have his way and swept her leg at him.

Saito stopped his charge helplessly, his face as cold as still water.

In the distance, a military off-road vehicle could be seen speeding toward them; it would be trouble if he didn't leave now.

Saito understood that taking Luke with him was no longer realistic.

Nothing had been accomplished on this trip to Nagoya, which left Saito in a very foul mood.

Before getting into the car, Saito smashed Krul into a wall at the cost of the previous experiment on his right arm being completely ruined.

You really thought you could go toe-to-toe with me? If my experiments weren't unfinished, I wouldn't say I'd one-shot you like I did to Lest Karr, but it wouldn't take more than ten moves, alright?

Watching Saito drive away, Krul spat in defiance.

"That person just now seemed to be from the Hyakuya Sect. What is Rig's relationship with that organization?"

Krul clearly knew of the organization's existence.

The Emperor Demon's vehicle had arrived; Krul casually picked up Saito's suitcase and left, vanishing in an instant.

The Emperor Demon members were also a bit overwhelmed and could only continue chasing the Hyakuya Sect's car... Luke only felt himself go from being pulled upright by Saito to being dragged at an angle, with occasional bumps.

What's wrong with Saito? Is he walking in a crouch?

He had to find a way to escape; the apocalypse virus would break out in over a year, and he didn't dare gamble on whether his mother could survive.

After a while, Miku's sudden voice left Luke inexplicably shocked.

"Mission: Find the entrance to the Vampire underground world completed. Rewards can be claimed at any time."

Luke:? Did Saito just get his base raided? No, wait... could it be that Princess Krul won?!

Is Saito, this Second Progenitor, a fraud?

Luke had clearly overlooked many details, forgetting that victory in battle depends on the right time, the right place, and the right people.

And clearly, Saito had none of the three.

"What did Rig put in here? There's a very nice scent of blood. Is it a daily snack?"

It's Krul! She really did win! Krul is the best!!!

Just as Krul opened the suitcase halfway, she saw a hand reach out from the gap, and she froze for a moment.

Still alive?!

"Ah, the scent of freedom!"

And the scent of Krul, it smells good.

Luke climbed out of the suitcase and stretched his body.

Being folded into a suitcase wasn't a great experience; it wasn't like Vertin's suitcase.

Krul curiously sized up the little boy in front of her, who was a head shorter than her.

His silver-white hair was slightly messy, like clouds scattered by a breeze, and his nose was slightly red; however, those purple eyes were like the deep starry sky, mysterious and charming, as if containing endless secrets that drew people in.

His features were delicate and well-defined, though still childish.

Luke was only six years old now, but his looks were already very high—even to the point where some creeps might have a thing for little shotas.

Before setting out, Luke had slightly adjusted his originally handsome face; once he grew up, it wouldn't be shockingly handsome, but just right.

If Krul were to evaluate him, he looked quite delicious.

"Who are you?"

Krul's voice rang out beside Luke.

Luke turned to look and saw Krul, with her red eyes and pointed ears, sizing him up.

She looks even better in person than in the anime!

That was Luke's first impression.

"He... Hello, Princess Krul..."

"Oh? You recognize me?"

Krul was somewhat surprised.

Luke bluffed: "I heard Mr. Saito call your name."

Krul was stunned for a moment, then realized.

"You mean Rigr Stafford?"

Luke scratched his head.

"Probably. I've always called him Mr. Saito."

"Why were you packed in a suitcase by Rig?"

Krul nodded and asked.

Luke's brain momentarily stalled. How should I know? Maybe he wanted to use me as a test subject?

Speaking of which, Hiiragi Mahiru doesn't seem to have found Krul to cooperate yet, which means Krul doesn't know about the Seraph Experiment. Should I tell her?

Forget it, I'll wait and see. I still have to go back and give my mother the Anti-Apocalypse Virus Drink; I can't draw Princess Krul's attention.

"It's... because..."

Just as Luke was about to start bluffing, he suddenly saw a black ball rushing toward him.

Whoa! What the hell?!

Krul also noticed the black ball, her brow furrowing slightly.

"Alucard, what are you acting crazy for now?"

Alucard didn't care what Krul said. Something delicious, here I come!

Luke hastily dodged, and Alucard missed.

Having failed to suck Luke's blood, Alucard began chirping and jabbering at Krul.

Krul's eyes lit up upon hearing this. When she looked at Luke again, her expression changed from doubt to curiosity, and she nodded.

"So it's you."

Luke:?

"What?"

"Hmm... you do look quite delicious."

"Let's put other matters aside. Let me see what your blood actually tastes like to make Alucard so obsessed and even give me an inexplicable attraction."

After Krul finished speaking, she slowly walked toward Luke.

Luke involuntarily backed away. Biting on the first meeting? That's not appropriate, is it? Moving this fast?

Just as Luke was about to put some distance between him and Krul, she was quick and grabbed him into her arms, casually tearing his down jacket to reveal Luke's neck, which was as fair as mutton-fat jade.

At this moment, Luke suddenly remembered a reward from a mission when he was four.

Random Blood Trait.

He hadn't felt anything after receiving the reward, so he hadn't paid much attention to it.

Good grief, it's a trait that attracts Vampires more easily, isn't it?! Krul only met me two minutes ago, and before she even finished asking about Saito, she couldn't wait to have her way with me.

Feeling the pain at his neck and the sensation of Krul's lips, Luke gave up resisting.

Can't beat her anyway, might as well enj... accept it!

Alucard also hurried over. Krul was holding Luke in her arms, making it hard to squeeze into the neck area, so it bit into the back of Luke's hand instead.

Last time, to avoid exposure, it only hurriedly sucked a little; this time, it had to drink its fill!

"Ah, it truly is delicious blood! I have never tasted such wonderful blood!"

Krul took a breath and bit down again.

With the blood in his body draining rapidly, Luke's face turned visibly pale.

Don't over-exploit the resource, Princess Krul!

Don't just suck me dry!

Come to think of it, Krul smells so good, and it's so comfortable in her arms... Luke's consciousness began to blur.

After a while, Krul finally let go and released Luke.

Luke fell weakly, like a doll being toyed with at will.

Krul looked satisfied, a slight blush rising on her fair cheeks.

"Human brat, I am very satisfied with your blood. From now on, you will be my exclusive blood source!"

Luke was completely drained of strength and didn't want to answer.

Krul sat on her throne, her right hand supporting her pretty face; she suddenly felt a bit sleepy.

Although this human brat's blood was very delicious, she felt a bit dizzy after drinking it. I should... sleep for a bit... On the other side, Alucard wasn't doing any better and had already collapsed to the side, fast asleep.

Luke lay on the ground for a long time. Noticing the surroundings had gone quiet, his strength recovered slightly.

Forcing himself to crawl up, he saw Krul supporting her head with one hand, eyes closed, breathing steadily, seemingly asleep.

But Luke didn't dare be careless.

He knew Krul had a hobby: faking sleep while supporting her head.

She wasn't necessarily pretending for anyone; she might be resting her eyes or thinking about something, but she wasn't actually asleep.

So Luke didn't know if Krul was truly asleep right now.
